Game was hella fun, played REALLY well, and the graphics are good enough that I don't care when I'm in battle.
The space requirement is surprising, but, it's not like I don't have plenty of room on the HDD...
Yup. I gotta hand it to them, I had so much damn fun in the beta that it successfully convinced me to pre-order the game. The beta may as well have been a demo for me. I anticipated that it would be good from the beginning, but after actually getting to play it, it actually managed to exceed my expectations. Dare I say it's one of the most exciting multiplayer experiences I've ever had. I'd call that a success.
Technically-speaking, it's not going to be as pretty as Battlefield 4 or Crysis 3... it is running on a 10-year-old engine after all. But that doesn't matter much when I'm wallrunning up skyscrapers and plugging rockets into giant mechs at high speed. The developers seem to have their priorities in good order. The time and effort that would have gone into making a singleplayer campaign has instead gone into creating a higher-quality multiplayer experience. I'm 100% okay with that.
Best pre-order deal right now seems to be GamersGate, where you can get $12 back in-store credit, effectively making the game $48. GameFly had a promo earlier where you could pre-order Titanfall for $48 straight up, but unfortunately that's over now. GMG also had a limited-time $10-off coupon a few days ago but that ended (they have a $7-off coupon for existing customers at the moment, but that's not as good). The game still has two weeks until release, so there is definitely a chance some of those deals will come back.
From now on I will post any good pre-order deals if I see them.

Agreed! I was curious, but not a ton of interest from me. I'm just not into FPS games very much anymore, especially multiplayer. It's literally been years since I've played one for more than a couple of hours.Yea it definitely was a fun beta. Please do post any deals you find. At first I may be skeptical since its only multiplayer but it really had me logging in every day just to play because it was so fun.
I think he was talking about back in the day in Doom 2, Quake 1-3, UT etc you didn't unlock anything. You started with a base pistol, a base amount of health and armor and as you progressed you got the better armor and new weapons. In the DM side you could pick up anything and use it. You were never at a disadvantage because you didn't unlock the Ultra Death Ray Instagib 1000, with the extended 9999shot magazine and 2million zoom lense scope.
People played shooters for years and years without ever having to unlock weapons and accessories. They kept playing because learning the map and getting better was a fun challenge. Now they design the game so that you're so weak that you have to play 20 hours just to get anything good.
I read that the beta had some bad mouse smoothing and stuff on the PC. How bad was it for those of you who played it? I'm trying to gather as much information as I can before release so I can pick the platform to buy it on.
look m8, i'm pretty good at quake. i've hit the soft cap you can get after getting 100k frags. from here on, it's small improvements year by year. The comparison there's not fair, seeing as Titanfallis about to launch and there hasn't been a true Quake game since 2005 (Quake Wars was 2007). I mean, if I was told that we'll get a Quake 5 as soon as an AT forums thread about it hits 500 posts, I'd be posting non-stop for the next 2 days to make that happen.
You guys are complaining about install space now???
They should have had less maps, to save space... Oh wait, gamers would bitch about that.
They should have used lower res textures to save space ... Oh wait, gamers would bitch about that.
They should have used lower sound quality to save space ... Oh wait, gamers would bitch about that..
Seriously, no matter what they do, someone will complain.
1) That is quite possibly the stupidest retort that is parroted time and again on this message board (and many others...)Ah, the good old complaining about complaining.

2) It's not complaining. Just pointing out the obvious truth.
Here's my problem with the last 5 posters logic...
Did you even play the beta? The weapons you start with ARE good. The rifle class? Good. The shotgun? It's good. The smart pistol? It's fucking good. It's seems to me there is more balance in this game than any fps that has come out, and if you suck then you suck, maybe you need to play for 20 hours to be good at anything but after I played the game for 20 minutes I was running lobbies because the starting guns are not bad and the unlocks for every gun has a weakness and a strength. The smg had a faster fire rate unlock that sacrificed damage and accuracy. Picking up weapons on the map is more unfair in my opinion because in games like halo if the other team picks up the "power" weapons you're fucked until those weapons respawn, and in most situations people are going to be camping the power weapon spawn just to get it. Leveling up in an fps only makes sense, why wouldn't you want to work towards SOMETHING??? Maybe I'm just too open minded? Also it feels like there are dedicated servers, unlike COD when you can tell someone has "host" and their connection affects the entire game... I just didn't see that in the beta, as a matter of fact the beta servers felt more established and stable than any multiplayer game I've played in years. Anyway I know this rant will change nobody's mind because everyone here in gaming is stubborn as fuck and once you've made up your mind, thats it, but jesus christ what kind of games do you actually play if there's a problem with everything that comes out? Stick to you SNES for all I care, there will just be less assholes on xbox when I try to sit down and enjoy something.

It looked a lot like complaining, but thanks for pointing out the obvious truth. I'm sure many missed it.

The only thing I think games need today specifically on the PC, is a way to host a dedicated server yourself for your friends to use. It might not be used often but it's an overlooked feature that can be quite useful for people.
Exactly. I can barely read this forum anymore because of all the whining babies.
Anyway, you guys made me change my mind, I love everything about this game. 12 players max is just right and we don't need real dedicated servers. Killing the npc guys is lots of fun and even if it was twice the size I would still buy it. Anyone that complains about any of these things just doesn't have a clue (don't try to discuss it, it's a fact).
