Honestly, the only reason people "think" this game is good, is because they had VERY smart marketing. They made you believe that this is the game to have, Microsoft alongside the devs of this studio played the brainwashing game really well. The reveal trailer made the game seem epic, and they slowly talked about it. They made every single review site that matters subtly hint it ever so often and made it seem like this was the game to buy the system for. This type of marketing works, it makes you think you like or want something that is actually mediocre at its core. No joke, this game is actually Call of Duty with mechs and parkour. This is the reason why it will succeed, using the exact same game play formula that COD has and then adding a few things to it. By doing so you manage to grab the whole audience that found COD impressive.
And I will be completely honest with you, the people who I see playing Call of Duty as fun don't seem to be the brightest in the pack. I personally think its takes a real eye for things, and a sense of creativity and passion to allow you to see through the bullshit that resides within these mediocre shooters of today.
I've played all of the Call of Duty games because a few of my friends own them and sometimes when we don't wanna go out we will drink a few beers and play it online with folks. Even when I drink I cant find anything fun about the game, might possibly be because I hate playing shooters on a controller, but I just don't like it. I don't even like Battlefield 3, or 4 played the shit out of BC2 (this game was revolutionary to the series) BF3, and 4 brought nothing new to the table and I was able to see through the bullshit marketing. This is what COD does every year to its fan base it brings you the exact same game every year and people buy it. I mean how stupid can someone be to buy the exact same game every year.
So Titanfall comes along, uses the source engine but definitely not to its advantage. I have seen indie developers use this engine and make their game look absolutely gorgeous. Apparently a big studio with millions behind it couldn't get past the bare essentials, the game looks like its from 2006. I don't see what people are excited for....The only thing I could see being even remotely exciting is the fact that you get to control a mech lol. So everyone is going to buy this game because you can use a mech? My lord, I guess people today really don't give a shit about innovation, not only that but they don't give a shit about being ripped off every year and paying $60 for the same shitty game. I guess money really does grow on trees.
Remember this is a subjective and very highly opinionated viewpoint don't take it too seriously even if I personally attacked people who play COD.
