Bought the game two nights ago. Really enjoying it so far. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the matchmaking system - hard to complete the campaign as it's looking for opposing teams.

I really need to utilize the parkour movement aspects more. I'm usually just running from point A to point B and that video makes it look so easy to take different routes and get there quicker.

I'm only level 16 though. Looking forward to putting some more time in this weekend.

Using the parkour to gain height also helps a lot. People running in straight lines on the ground are easy targets for those on the roof. Flip side is the roof usually has less cover.

I'm hoping to give the beta matchmaking a go today. Playing near my skill will help me improve a lot more than getting curb-stomped or curb-stomping.

All right, just found out something that irks me. There's an unlock for the triple threat called "land mine", that makes it so that the grenades stick and turn into mines. So you can lay full minefields and block corridors until you're out of ammo right? Wrong. Turns out the mines magically disappear every time you fire more than a full mag, so you get to lay 9 mines max; effectively you get 9 less effective grenades that can't bounce into buildings. It's not an upgrade, it's a nerf. :|

Played the beta matchmaking this morning. Liked it a lot until it basically stopped matching my team with people. Wasted 10 minutes waiting on a new match that never happened. Most of the time it was always a tight match.

Props to those getting 100+ attrition points. I am usually getting around 60-70. My KD ratio is really high but I am not getting a ton of points. Might have to get more aggressive rushing.

I like using parkour and then stopping on the wall.

I hardly ever see people wall-hang, which surprises me. It's an EXTREMELY effective tactic, especially in Hardpoint. Hear someone coming? Jump up into a corner, hang, cloak, kill, get called camper, win.

How do you figure? You set 9, blow them, set the next 9, don't you? I don't have the game, but in CoD, that's how claymores worked with Scavenger. You could only have 2 out and 2 on-hand, so you'd have to wait for one to blow to set the next. However, you could use as many as you wanted long-term, as long as you could get more from bags.

If the mines did not disappear at all, this weapon would be OP as hell.

Yeah, you don't have the game. The grenade launcher is this context is your titan's primary weapon, if you lay nine "mines" with it that means you can't shoot at anything else with anything beyond your secondary, which you can only fire once every 30 seconds or so.

And 9 mines is basically useless. If you're close enough for put them in front of a charging enemy you're just going to launch them in his face without using the "mine" functionality, and even if someone stumbles into your piddly little minefield the most that will happen is they lose their shield, assuming they hit all 9.

Not to mention this isn't call of duty, there aren't any sniper alleys or major choke-points, especially for pilots. Even if you successfully mine one corridor, there are at least 3 more.

Here's a video of the weapon in question to put in perspective, operating in normal (non-landmine) mode. As you can see, turning those 9 grenades into mines would be pretty useless in that vid.

About the only possible use I could see is a defensive role in capture the flag.

OK, I get you now. I'll say that I don't like that it's a 3-round shot, I'd rather it work like Black Ops II's War Machine. However, I could find uses (mostly in situations where I'm losing in a Titan battle and being chased) where I could make use of a mine field. It's probably not my preferred weapon as a whole (would take a, AR-like Titan weapon for general use), but I would imagine that they deliberately made the "upgrade" for objective-based games.

I've put some time into this game, current Gen3 lvl 30ish. Obviously, I'm having fun since I've put that much time into it, but the game modes and the scoring system still don't quite feel perfect for me.

Attrition is simple and fun, but racking up points killing bots are kinda lame since they really are not threatening at all. I wish they would bump up their aggressiveness or just plain improve the AI to react to their environment better. I got 130 points in one game by luck but it felt a little cheap since I had tons of bot kills. With 6v6, you can run out of targets when you are on a roll. I still go after bot kills to reduce build time, but that whole concept feels forced to justify the inclusion of bots in the game, IMO.

Pilot Hunter is a good concept, but when the action is intense, it's hard to distinguish Pilots and Spectors/Grunts. I just shoot. Do you guys ignore bots to go specifically after Pilots?

What I love the most about this game is the rodeo. The idea of going after something so much bigger and stronger than you is pure entertainment. I love playing the Engineering class in BF4 for the same reason, taking out vehicles with rockets, mines, etc. What I don't like, is that the point system don't quite reward you enough for the risk you take.

My 2 cents.

Picked it up this weekend and played for 3-4 hours. Having a blast with it so far. Only played Attrition and getting the hang of the mechanics, movements, weapons etc. tons of fun being a pilot and trying to shoot down a titan.

I agree the bots should be boosted a bit or removed. Not sure. Not terribly big on them but they pose an easy point grab and I supposed strategically can be used in that sense.

I don't have any issues with the 6v6 combat size. There are times where it can be a little light but it's never hard to find people or a battle. I think a good size would be 8 or 10v10 but I have no issues with the 6v6 like I thought I would. Especially with the titans walking around and speed of the game.

Definitely a game I can see myself playing for a while as long as people are on it.

I'm annoyed they haven't released new drivers / SLI support yet or fixed the surprisingly low performance. I have SLI 680's yet I have to play at medium/low settings to get consistent framerates.

Why not disable sli right now? I have everything maxed completely and I'm not having any issues. Constant 60fps.

Same here, have Crossfire disabled. I believe I have it maxed out and have zero issues.

Could be an nvidia driver problem then. I get max fps most of the time but certain areas and situations bog it down to under 40.

Every once in a while I will come across a rodeo guy who drops C4 on my titan and as soon as I get out of the titan he blows it up. I can't run away fast enough. Is there a way to beat this? Or do I just let him keep on killing my titan? I know there is electric smoke but I don't equip it.

Has to be a better way of defending it.

This happens a lot of you use the ogre since he's slower. Only way I keep them out is using electric smoke. It really is better than the other perks. I'm guilty of dropping c4 on titans as well. But you can be killed because people have gotten out before and got me if I wasn't fast enough jumping off.

Sorry but there isn't. I do this all the time, fun as hell.

The "best" way I suppose is to have a nearby teammate to clean us off before we can lay all of the satchels, but that's a shot in the dark unless you're playing as a party. Even that won't protect against dead-man's switch.

That or you get out really fast when you hear the pilot land as opposed to waiting for the warning, but once again that's no guarantee.
