I would think that they want the UPC code from the package since it states ActiveLink/Handspring and the SKU# 285256 on the upc label. As far as being able to send copies for the Xircon modem, it does state "copies of the sales receipt and UPC code" which would imply copies of both. I also purchased six other items from CompUsa with rebates and three of them state "copies of sales receipt and UPC code" .They are the 100 activelink rebate, the Maxtor drive ($40), and the Xircon modem ($50). The EPO 52X drive ($20) and the ($20) Best data modem states "A copy of your sales receipt and a copy of your UPC code", which seems straightforward. The $5 Avery CD label and the$10 Belkin USB hub states" a copy of your sales receipt and the original UPC label", also straightforward. Not consistent with their requests, are they?
Here's a question. Would they ever deny a rebate because you sent in the original UPC instead of the requested "copy". Would they constitute that as being an incomplete form and thus give reason for denial of your rebate?
To make matters more confusing, the EPO 52X drive wants a "copy of the UPC code Cut from the package. That's on the back of the rebate form and the request is slightly different than the front. What do you do, cut the UPC code out, then copy it? Hmmmm.... very strange. Any input to this confusion???
