Could you explain the loot respawn a bit more? The more people in an area the faster stuff will respawn or is it the reverse?

The more people in the area, the faster loot will respawn. This encourages player interaction and player conflict. At least, that's what I understood from the dev posts.

Edit: to add to the info, there's a small radius around the player where loot will not spawn while the player is there. I don't know what that radius is, but it's not that big, maybe a few meters. This prevents something spawning at a player's feet.

Wondering the same. Watched some streams and it consists of a lot of running around, makes sense though. There also seem to be no map, the streamer I watched was using one on his browser.

There are small maps at bus stops in-game. The bus stop maps are a tiny portion of the overall area map which are linked repeatedly in this thread and even explained in the same way repeatedly in this thread.

Would be cool if it was more player friendly but that all depends who you play with. I'd like to have a mic for the PC if I do play which is why I'd rather play on console. It does look interesting. Will it be $20 all throughout or is that going to increase when its final? I'm actually looking forward to dying light and have been watching day z but this seems better than day z.

The game is only $20 if you want to be involved in development during the early access. Those who buy into early access get some stuff from the real money store for free, but not much. There's a $40 early access version where you get a few more items from the sony store.

These items are all items that can be found or earned in-game at no cost once the game goes 1.0 and is "released."

When released, the game will be free to download and free to play.

Your opinion on how fun the game is is entirely subjective. Not everyone believes the game is boring. Especially considering how it's been #1 stream on Twitch for days and how Sony has sold hundreds of thousands of copies in the first day or two alone.

Need some bias here. no i haven't played it but i was interested in the game and i have watched a ton of gameplay videos and thats my opinion right now. I think he is trolling and really hates the game just like everyone else. Only explanation, either that or his dad is making the game.

Read the reviews on Steam,.. not a single positive review about the game. The reviews that are marked positive, well read them as well because they are really funny negative reviews.. haha. Skip this one till its free!

Ok... so I found a few things today, 8 .45 rounds but more interestingly, an empty syringe. Then I had a zombie attack me so I killed it and it said I could draw infected blood , so I did. And after that, my syringe was useable so I used it - I mean we've all done that before right?

But nothing happened I was hoping to turn into a zombie or something. I ended up dying from some nasty wolf biting me.

I did it with three of those syringes, raising me to 3%. I ran around for a few hours and it didn't increase. I'm not sure how this game mechanic is supposed to work, yet, but it would be cool if it lowered your agro range for zombies because, at range, they think you're one of them or something.

Apparently there's a lot of people who think differently. I don't like the way gaming is going with paid early access, and nickle and diming customers after purchasing a game, but - regardless of what I think as a consumer - if I were a bean counter for these companies I'd be stupid to leave all that money on the table to do the 'right' thing.

bahaha, now thinclient is IMing me "proof" that other people have said good things about it. All of it was from page 1 of this thread, before anyone had actually played it.

It also included things like:

Nothing of actual substance.

He then says that he has said bad things about it and his example is his complaint that it was pushed back a few hours for release and that the servers were busy the 1st day of release.

Look at it this way.

If someone has an entirely negative opinion about a game that they haven't even played and each and every argument that they bring to the table can be deconstructed with rational arguments, why would you support their opinion? Why WOULDN'T you defend something you like?

Do they intend to do something cool with the "injectable" zombie juice? That could be a unique, if rather twisted, opportunity for some really WRONG gameplay. Talk about a bioweapon!

Everyone who's played this has paid for it, FYI. It's not F2P yet.

Positive, over all.

Some of my gripes are that the map is so small for the player limit that it crams far too many people into 8KM. There are a lot of people complaining about loot, but loot is EVERYWHERE after server restart, which means that loot is over saturated but there are so many people crammed into 8KM that a billion people are getting a small piece of the pie as soon as possible, making it look like there's no loot remaining.

Once the map size is increased (which will is planned to be done at least once prior to release and then done repeatedly post-release), it'll be a lot easier to find loot. Too many people griping about loot when the root of the problem is player density.

Base building needs work. Some locked doors can be opened by anyone. Bases need to be "repaired" with a hammer as they decay over time. However, it's like 1 or 2 days and your entire base is gone. This should be pushed back to 5 days so it doesn't require players logging in every single day to repair their entire base. Not that it matters anyway, since you can just walk in in many situations.

It's a DX game, so cheats are instantly available as always. Sigh.

Teaming isn't in the game yet, so no clans or groups or parties or friends list or something yet.


Gameplay is fun, PVP is REALLY fun. The discovery system is novel. Playing on a pvp server with recipe wipe, headshots only, and 1st person only is hardcore mode. It's great.

Sony has been RIGHT on the ball with bug fixes and updates and things. They're doing an impressive job paying attention to their game, which not many other companies usually do. Follow John Smedley and H1Z1 on twitter/reddit for update news. There's a Dev Tracker somewhere too but I don't have the link handy.

There are dozens of servers. There will be hundreds before the game is released.

Heh, with hundreds of thousands of people buying the first few days, how would one server even work since the map is only 8KM?
