Too much effort for me, but perhaps before mounting an attack on some stranger, using the proxy site linked to earlier in the thread to give them referrals a few moments before the tick, then nail them right after the tick. If they're getting 2 or 3 thousand credits per tick, and you get 40%, that's a few thousand extra credits for you.

Finally got lvl 3 Virus. I kept getting attacked today and lost all my money but got it all back now but I'm broke. Ganna have to wait for a while and build up my net speed.

Or automatically click on the referral links once a day at set time, whatever the maximum allowed so we'll never have to worry about it. New members just get tossed in there, and automatically refreshed.

Here's an advice on saving up, you'd rather lose 25%, than lose it all.

It's getting there. I've been working in the house all day, so check back at the computer fairly regularly. 4,436mhz 10,312kbps currently, don't recall what level my vault is at - I've changed my mind when I realized how much more expensive it gets each time, just to add on less than 1000 capacity. It might be better to just have the credits stolen, so long as I minimize attacks & get my computers wayyyyy up. I've got some other stuff to do, so I'll wait til I have 5 attacks next time - and hope no one attacks me while I'm attacking others - then I'll upgrade the virus again.
bandwidth is ranked in the top 200 now. Not sure where my mhz ranks; somewhere between 300 and 350. I keep selling it and buying it back -wasted a lot of money & time.


Tip for new people: Until you have enough kbps to attack people who are in the top couple hundred (and earning 1000's of credits per tick), one place that seems ripe for the picking is actually in the higher rankings. People apparently tend to attack those they can just barely beat. Meanwhile, the people ranked 900th have been sitting there for days and days without getting attacked... just accumulating points. I found a nice streak where I went player by player; each had at least 20-30k in credits that I could take with very low bandwidth. That let me build up my virus quicker.

OK, here's the official sssnail's strategy guide:

1. Don't attack right when you get a clean IP, do it a few minutes before you pick up a new one.
2. Attack when you have 4-5 IPs.
3. Invest in kbps, buy the most expensive one you can afford first, then put the rest in whatever you can and the vault won't hold
4. On the next attacking rounds, sell the cheap ones, and buy the more expensive ones with the money you have.
5. ...
6. Profits.

On another note, you won't make much off virus right now, so concentrate on attacking. Seek out players with high attack and low defense, chances are they'll have more cash than others. Also, attack people that are in a clan, because they think they're protected.
