Could someone tell me what upgrading to a Batch File (level 1) does specifically?

YoYo

Here you can review the virus that you currently have and upgrade it to **infect more machines each tick**, which in turn will create more income for you.

In short, I dunno, just know its a good thing!

It's the base virus, it's your income per tick, basically.

Does anyone know by how much?

I'd like to figure out how long it takes to pay for itself etc.

I'm requesting an invite, account name: giles

Not sure if I'll have enough time to really play this much, but it looks interesting.

Every tick it infects more machines, each of which generates 5 credits, it looks like. So a level 1 virus infects two more machines every tick. A level 2 infects 4 per turn, next is 8, etc.

Damn it! I have the shittiest luck with attacks. 67% of 0 credits.... 0 credits.

Oh well, I've gotta get some stuff done today. I sold all my mhz and kbps; upgraded the virus & put the remainder into kbps. (I probably could have grabbed a calculator, but was too lazy) - I had enough left over for a single 28k modem.

yoyo, with the level 3 virus, you get 480 credits per tick. To get to that level, it was 15k + 30k + 60k = 105k total spent. Plus, I get 16 infections per tick. Each tick is 30 minutes, so every 24 hours, I'll have 48 ticks = 23,040.

My new strategy - about every 2 1/2 hours, I'll do my 5 attacks. I'm not going to worry about the mhz any more - I've only been attacked once. It's not worth wasting credits on right now. I'll get a little bit larger of a vault & even if attacked - no big deal... no credits lost. I'll keep upgrading my vault until it can hold all the credits I'd accumulate in roughly a day. I'll keep upgrading my bandwidth so that eventually, I can go after the higher level players. Mhz comes later.

Ok, looks like it would pay for itself in about 76 hours with my stats then.

Thanks.

The only problem i've seen is that I've been attacked twice and I didn't lose any credits, but they did destroy some of my "infected computers" so I lost some income

You get 480 credits per tick... does that mean you have 96 computers?

You need defense to protect your infected machines.

Hmm I might check this out, marking for later.

Is there any aspect of this game that can be enhanced by the "technological endeavors" of members here?

Other than writing scripts to cheat, not really.

I don't understand the fuking idiotic ratings, mines are clearly higher on both counts than the people that I'm attacking, but I keep failing. WTF?

Oh, do I get an invite or do I have to start attacking you guys?

Ahhhhhhh, so that's how it works. Damn it! Now my strategy isn't going to work. People are going to be able to quickly kill how many computer I have connected.

On the other hand, I'm up to 126 infected computers now. And, I discovered something I'm a bit reluctant to reveal (that would be realized if you thought about what I did & connected the dots). Nonetheless, my kbps is right back up where it was before I sold all of my mhz and kbps to buy the upgraded virus.
