How much do you want to bet that Ray's (?) site is really a business arm of the dark army? And when they finally realize who Elliot is, they let him go. Otherwise, I'm not sure how he gets out of this situation.

I'm assuming the DA is responsible for what happened at the hotel. Although beyond being scrutinized by various international agencies, I'm not sure what their motivation is. It seems the worst that happens is that they lose a few front people.

The investigation into the hack only got anywhere because of Dominique (Grace Gummer) so probably out to kill her and her team. Looks like they got everyone except her -- only because she's a major character. What was with the old Colt 45 though...

And the Grace Gummer, Dom, character: I thought she was "normal" when they first introduced her in the variety store. Now it's clear they're trying to show her as on the autism spectrum: highly functional and smart but very awkward -- similar to Elliot. And the variety store thing now looks like an awkward, one-sided, "classic" autism spectrum symptom of not being able to recognize social cues.

Damn, the 4th episode was a huge letdown, I literally had to fast-forward through the first 20 minutes just to see how far they took that ridiculous beginning sequence. Yeah, we get it, Mr. Robot is "protecting" Elliot as well as using him, did we need a whole production to show that? Everything non-Elliot was good though, the FBI hack was quite suspenseful.

Ya, that beginning sequence really wore out its welcome.

Shit is taking way long to happen this season.

I dont know how to feel about this season. I dont really look forward to it like I did last season. Its well done scene by scene, but the progression is a little too slow. It seems like they are going to drag out the Wellick plot all season. And he should have been using his father like another tool in his toolkit a couple episodes ago. I never thought the split personality thing needed exploration, it is what it is, lets move on. Kinda feels like the show is trying too hard to be...I dunno, edgy, hip, critically loved... I guess its feels pretentious to me, when last season it was simply interesting.

I love the dark ambience of the show. Any show that does that well, they could have someone reading a phonebook and I would still love it.

I thought the opening sequence gave you some insight into the family dynamic - which is something they've never really explored. I'm mainly thinking of the attitude the mother had toward her children. We'd gotten intimations of what she was like previously, but it was never really push in our faces like it was in the opening. I'm not sure we really needed to know some of the stuff in that sequence but I rather liked it. Probably would have opted for it to be a bit shorter though.

They also seemed to really go out of their way to show you the technical side of things which I don't think we really needed. It's going to cause all of the linux hackers to nerdgasm, I'm sure, but for the rest of us, it was a lot more than what we needed for the story.

That was a wasted 20 mins at the start, they could have been done in less than 5 mins.
What was the drug they injected into his finger?
Why did she leave the stall door open?
LOL at the switch that just happened to have 1 link open, and just happened to be stuffed under that desk.

Overall, another meh episode.

Stall door was closed. Camera was looking through the crack. It looked like it was all one take which was impressive. And she forgot to wipe her prints off the bottom of the box with antennas. Otherwise, as a clean-freak, that was pretty impressive wiping: didn't recontaminate with free hand and wiped most of it off.

I figure the switch was in an accurate location.

I doubt the FBI would bring in some serious equipment on a rack for a quick and dirty mobile operation. And they have a former FBI cyber ops guy on the advisory team (same one who writes the hacks), and I guess that the depictions of the FBI have been incredibly accurate.

The bolded above is how I feel about this season. I LOVED the first season, and thought it was one of the most original shows on TV. Now, after watching the first two eps of Season 2, the rest are just stacking up on the 'ol DVR.

If you don't watch, you won't see Meryl Streep's daughter touch herself...

I got the impression (might be wrong) that they didn't so much inject him with anything. They did break the needle in his finger, so it came across more of a punishment thing.

I hated the first 20 mins. It's one of the things that kills this show for me. They keep trying to be artistic and bring in things from other shows. The problem I have is I've seen it before, and done better. Here it just pollutes the show and slows everything down. I get they're going for Breaking Bad type style, but they're falling really short. It's almost not worth watching anymore.

I wish I hadn't already deleted the recording. I could have sworn they pushed the plunger down... but, I suppose it could have been air? Stabbing a needle under the nail bed and then pushing air would be a nasty torture/punishment... the needle alone ought to do more than enough to drive the point home.

I cannot imagine what they could inject him with as punishment that still allowed him to carry on with life... but it definitely seemed like they injected him with something.

Not sure that will help...what needs to be done is edit the crap parts in most of those, and then there is a chance things will mesh together better, at least get some continuity flowing in the right direction.

Loved the reveal of who Leon really is...that was badass (or, actually when he 'saves' Elliot).
