Well, my new rig has issues. It's the 9400GT. When chameleon is in the 5 second boot delay, I noticed it states nvida 14MB. The openGL tests ok, frame rates near 400, but it has no card ID,. I used the custom setting on osx86 toolbox. The trouble is kernel panics while watching webkinz youtube videos and sleep causes KP's. Has anyone had success with a 9400? Im searching around for others solutions. I popped in a 7200GS and it's fine now, but I would like to get this going. BTW, this is a kaidos guide install. I probably just need a 9400 driver, right?
At boot time, it shows how much VESA RAM the card has - most have like, less than 20 megs or something. It's just for like a basic 800x600 mode until you install the driver.
Others have used the 9400 with good success, odd that you're having trouble. Did you use the driver in Uinstaller? If it's not there, just create a Custom NVIDIA entry (scroll down in the Uinstaller video card list & it walks you through it when you click Install). Is it a fanless 9400? Can you test it on Windows to see if it's a stable card?

Great setup, mosslack!
Thanks, I think I have figured out how to get all 3 displays up and running now. I was playing around in my test partition, BIOS set to PEG2, and found this on the HQ-A files page:
Enabler_for_Nvidia_and_multiple_ATI_cards.pkg
Ran that and now all 3 monitors work with the correct resolution, etc. Now all I need to do is get my main partition back up. I was messing around with it before hand and I think I screwed something up. It won't boot now. Gonna try reinstalling Chameleon to see if that helps.
Edit: Oops! Not so fast. Only way it boots now is with the Boot 132 CD. Chameleon will not boot either partition. I think I may need to start with a clean slate and see what happens.

Yep, 10.5.8. I'm currently trying to get audio working as I have all the displays working now. Once I get it figured out I plan to reinstall the main partition. So far so good.

So, my buddy upgraded to Snow Leopard from Leopard on his hack. Just FYI, it CAN be done. He's using a USB stick and is familiar with all of the aftermarket kexts he installed, so he was careful to get 64-bit versions for Snow and replace everything properly.
If I ever get around to releasing a Snow Guide (don't I still need to post a 10.5.6 guide? lol), I can say with almost 100% certainty that it will be a 'clean install' guide. Doing the background for updating from Leopard is just going to be waaaaaay too much hassle for me to write up. So yah, just FYI - I won't be doing an "upgrade" guide, just a clean install guide when/if I do, but yes, it IS possible if you know what you're doing!

Do the french drivers work anymore?

@mosslack... Vow... kool job with the monitors.. you need a bigger desk mate.. And in future, I hope you will at least not reject one of those post office woman, they can be great for releasing all that tensions that we build up by putting 3 monitors with 1 pc together.

Just to let you know, I installed Snow Leopard and didn't have any problems with it. So far I have no internal sound working, but I lived with my USB solution until now.. Make sure you install PC_EFI V10 at least over Chameleon and deinstall a lot of the previously used kexts. The amount of Kexts needed minimzes compared to 10.5
I had to work a bit to get my 4850 up and running, but with some 10.5 32Bit Kext magic it workd. 64bit Kernel is not needed anyway so far...

did you have to repartition to install? I cannot get it to install on an existing partition.
So I can't really install i guess, because even if i partition my drive i still have to install leo first, then i can't partition a drive in use. And I dont have DL disk or >4GB usb drive... woe is me

Finally! I'm beginning to think my particular UD3P is from a galaxy far, far away. I remembered the last time that I had installed VoodooHDA.kext prior to using those french injectors so I tried that. Installed VoodooHDA and it worked, trashed it and installed the 889a injector. Restart, no sound device. Shutdown and then started back up and now I have sound. If the multi-monitors work I will have this one tamed, at least until something new comes along.
Edit: Success! I've updated the system to 10.5.8, all 3 monitors work and at the proper resolutions, and sound is working via the 889a injector. mohkahn was right, I'm too old for this crap! It's only 12:30 AM and I'm calling it a night!

Nice job mosslack! Let me recap, did you update to 10.5.8, run the unistaller, then voodooHDA, remove voodooHDA, add 889a injector, 2 restarts and all ok? Did you try sleep? KAido posted a sleep patch on page 152 of this thread.
Is Kaido building a 10.5.8 guide, or moving on to 10.6?
anyone have a camera in that bat cave?
