I have ML DP1 installed on my DS3L, no ethernet, but I have sound using MultiBeast. Unfortunately Lnx2Mac driver did not give me ethernet. I have full screen resolution with QE/CI, nothing else to report until I get ethernet working.
How did you build the USB drive? same way as Lion?
Actually I cheated, downloaded an image off TPB. Tried the actual DP1 first, but could not get it transferred to a USB stick. Will give the solution a try and let you know.
So... no one else has ML up? I was hoping someone had figured out why ethernet is not working on the DS3L by now. I worked hard on it, but nothing I tried would get it working. It's like the ethernet doesn't even exist. Only thing recognized in the network pref pane is Firewire. Ethernet does show in system info, but it don't work.
Wow, end of an era. I can remember when this thread was always near the top of All Things Apple. I had to go 20 pages deep in the thread list to find it this time. I guess we have all moved on, but my DS3L is still here by my side, running 10.8.2 as slick as you please! Long live the GA-P35-DS3L!!!
This thread is epic! Reading back through it brings back some great memories.Wow, end of an era. I can remember when this thread was always near the top of All Things Apple. All my old Hacks from this thread are still running strong, and virtually every one of the ones I built for others are still chugging away for their owners as well. My old DQ6 is now a Hackintosh media center running 10.8.2 just fine.
Posting this now from the 3rd Z77X-UP5-TH/ i7 3770, 16GB RAM, GTX 670 machine I've built for friends. This machine is just beautiful- boots up in about 10 seconds from twin Samsung 840 drives, and geekbenches at 16,700.
The art of Hackintoshing is alive and well, it seems it's mostly Tonymac's site and a few other places that have the most current info.
Can't wait for a new 2013 Hackintosh thread!
Nope. No RAID. Client build, one SSD for OSX, the other for Windows 7. RAID would be a waste for them anyway. (Like much of the rest of the power of this system already is, but hey, they'll likely have it for years so it's future-proof.Hah yeah, oh how I miss having oodles of free time
Are you doing software RAID on the 840's?
