Looking forward to it. I screwed up my installation on my DS3R. My attempt to install the 889 kext Wednesday night resulted in OSX freezing when it boots. I'm guessing the instructions I followed weren't compatible with your guide (I installed based on your original post in this thread).

It looks like things have changed quite a bit since your OP - no longer using the USB bootdrive, at least. Would it make the most sense to just start from scratch with your new guide?

Hey Kaido. For those who might be interested...are you taking any donations for all your hard work? Also, btw, what makes you do all this awesome work for many of us?

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication.

Yes, it would make the most sense to start from scratch. We can put together a DS3R plugin pretty easily now that the core app is done (thanks to PCWiz!!). 889 doesn't require Taruga; the plugin will have kexts for it.

Hi Kaido,

I'm typing this on my new Hackintosch, that I finished building a few hours ago. Everything went perfectly smooth, and I'm now busy updating to 10.5.5 before my first reboot. I'm a rank amateur when it comes to OSX86, and to Macs in general.

A BIG thankyou for you hard work!

My setup:
GA-P35-DS3L
Core 2 Duo 6420 2.13MHz
7300 GS 256M
2 Gig memory
Seagate 250G SATA
LiteOn 20x SATA

Nope no donations, I just do this for fun It's a mutually beneficial relationship...when you get a whole bunch of users together, you get the collective knowledge of a community and a whole bunch of people finding bugs to fix. The end result is that, with some work, we have a very smooth and stable installation.

You're welcome! Don't install too many things yet, I'm going to release the final guide tomorrow and you may want to do a fresh install

It varies. I have seen the apple menu bar take the same color as the desktop, the small apple on the top-left disappear (until moused over), and once rectangular areas with inconsistent desktop colors.

GeForce 8600GT fanless, not particularly overheated.

I have noticed this when ethernet not plugged in during boot-up. I just tried unplugging when it was already booted up and video continued fine.

Man, let me tell you, I was disappointed to learn today that UPS Ground does not deliver the day after Thanksgiving. I was pretty excited to get the drives and OS for this project today, figuring they'd be at my door when I got back from my folks' place. Ah well, Monday it is.

Vow Cy-Borg, you are online.. Does that mean in a while we shall see the final release? It is your Saturday morning of 29th right (about 2-30am), and it is my Saturday Evening 29th (2-30pm) here in Asia..

Darn it.. really too excited for this final thing want to re-install everything from the scratch to see what performance boost I will get. So far machine is working superbly.

Do you have VMware installed?

I can upload the package now if you want it. I have to finish the video and then finish up the PDF Guide. I have to work today in about 5 hours though, so the full release won't be until this evening when I get off work.

Yes, Fusion 2.0. Have not run any VMs yet. Hmm. Could that be causing it?

Not sure if anyone here will be able to answer this question or not. But I have a torrent downloading currently and another seeding. The torrent downloading probably won't be done till Monday because I have it downloading at around 15kb/s. and I only have upload .1 of the other torrent. If I reinstall tonight can I just open the torrent files again and point them to where the downloaded files are located and they will start back where they were?

hello kaido, I decided to build a new computer with different mobo its actually a ga-945gcm-s2c its actually a very nice board and I decided to use it because it was what I had at hand, it carries a gma950 but decided to use a ECS geforce 8400gs, I downloaded your bootcd the new one(nov 21) and I get some errors, with the geforce I get only the apple logo and half the screen looks darker and it justs stays there its frozen if I remove the geforce and go with the integrated gma950 I get an error with a power botton just after the apple logo with retail leopard disk that says "you need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button".

Im using an IDE DVD burner and a SATA HD.

I might be wrong, but to my knowledge that motherboard won't work with this package. You would have to build a new package to support ga-945gcm-s2c. But I might be wrong.

Timezones are man created god did not create them. We did by coming up with the concept of having an international date line - traditional religious beliefs is that the Earth is flat (we wouldn't be anywhere without science) religion only makes you narrow minded and diminishes your inquisitiveness in blind faith .

There looks like a good guide for Kalyway for your motherboard here ... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=94561

Precisely I was looking at that guide just a moment ago, I think I will give it a shot and when Im in leopard try to install chameleon and go retail and see if it works, havent found any help with boot123 and my mobo. I actually picked this mobo because all its parts are supported almost out of the box or so I read and thought it would be a good board for leopard.

Ill post my results to document my experience.
