This is perfect. I'm still waiting on my video card (my ebay seller became retarted) so this is perfect as I can at least read up and be prepared once my system is up!

Uh...enjoy reading. It's 63 pages lol (so far)

Edit: I say that, but it's an easy read. My inspiration was JK Rowlings...her Harry Potter books are like 700+ pages, but you can read them in a day or two because of the easy, conversational writing style. Tried to use that writing convention as opposed to a dry, boring technical manual

Yes, I should note that. For installation and the initial setup, Leopard only sees the first two SATA ports until the drivers are loaded. Noted for v1.1

You can, I dual boot x64 vista. I also have my osx backup on the 4th sata port and it boots fine, have also cloned from and to the mac backup and the main install and all worked fine. Just hold F12 on startup and a little BIOS boot selector comes up.

I'm hoping with the upcoming bootloader update, they'll have a better boot selection system in place. Maybe icons, separate drives & partitions, custom editing, etc.

Awesome!
Kaido, you're one of the truly helpful peeps of the computing world.
So far, a great read! You should publish this as Hackintosh 101.

dang it.. Just downloaded and tonight will be the night on which new hackintosh will be built using the easiest way.

I bought a very cheap MB Foxconn (Gigabyte) p9657AA gigabyte to play with Linux and the board turned out to be faulty. But all the sorrow from that vanished as soon as I saw that "ahem" followed by the link. It made my blood stop for a few seconds.. no kidding.. Thank you Man. for all your efforts. I am all smiles for the whole week.

Hah, too much effort. The reason my "Soup" guides are so good is because I narrowly focus on only one series of boards, which means I can hit 100% of the functionality with my instructions. Many guides in the Genius Bar are kind of one-size-fits all for Dell laptops, Gigabyte boards, etc., and the end result is you're still left to figure things out yourself, which can be a real pain in the neck.

But, I am working on a Developer's Guide to explain the tools to create your own Plugin, BootCD, and general installation flow. Should be out this coming week

BTW are you accepting donations?

No, but if you want to donate, please donate to PCWiz: (Paypal button is on his webpage)

http://www.pcwizcomputer.com/

He has done all of the support for me, including:

-hosting the package
-hosting my blog
-creating DSDT Patcher GUI
-creating MKext Tool
-creating Universal OSx86 Installer

Without his software & generous hosting, the guide wouldn't be what it is today

I did an install with the new package last night up to 10.5.5. I was too tired to go any further so I did the rest of the updates today. I hit a rough patch or two updating to 10.5.6, but nothing a press of the reset button wouldn't fix. I'm happy to say I have that install running at 10.5.6 fully updated at the moment. I am curious about the developers guide and look forward to that when it comes out. I would love to do a plug in for my GA-945GCMX=S2 and Wind PC as well. Thanks for the great work Kaido.

maybe i should start another thread w/ all the issues I keep running into... hah.... anyone having issues w/ bonjour, with the hackintosh as the source (printer sharing in this case). I disabled IPv6 as suggested in some things I found.. and it did work... but then after 5 minutes or so, it seems to just break

Ok, it's obvious I don't walk and chew gum at the same time. Where is this guide and 6 new rigs? I am getting links to about six different locations.

This is a great guide - THANK YOU! Any suggestions on where I can pick up a BFG 768MB 8800GTX ? I see where you wrote that it is more difficult to find!

Just did a quick search on ebay and found 3 BFG 768MB 8800GTXs. Check ebay, FS/FT, or craigslist.

Just a quick note -- this is post 998 in this thread, which probably has as many posts as all of the rest of the topics in this category combined over the last month! Way to hit a nerve, Kaido!
