Wow, that's great. I'm glad that dream worked out for you.

Now here's my dream (seriously). I woke up one morning and told my wife, "I had a horrible dream." She asked what it was about. I told her that we got bill from the dentist for $800. She said, that's not good, but obviously ridiculous because we shouldn't owe anything to the dentist. Well later in the day when I came back from work, I picked up the mail and guess what I got? That's right, A FVCKING $800 BILL! Not from the dentist mind you, but from the hospital. Doctor LOVES sending me freakin' random bills and then I have to freakin' dispute it with the hospital. :|

Anyway, I'm happy for you.

The stress of it finally came down on me last night. I couldn't sleep and at about 3:30AM I started crying. I was soo scared I wouldn't be able to support my family and that I would have to declare bankruptcy. I cried myself to sleep for the 1st time since I was a young boy.

My baby woke me up at about 6 to eat. I fed him and put him back to sleep at about 6:30.

I fell back asleep on the living room recliner. I only slept for about an hour but I had a dream.

I dreamed that I was being interviewed at a business. I knew WHERE it was but I didn't know what business it was.

When I woke up at 8 I told my wife about my dream and she said, "that would be wonderful"

Well, she went off to work at the day-care and I couldn't go back to sleep. I decided that I would get dressed and visit the actual place I dreamed about. It was a strip mall near a Super Wal-Mart that has just opened last month. Now in my dream I didn't know what business it was so I decided to go to each store asking if they were hiring.

I first walked into the sports store knowing that I couldn't have been dreaming of the nail salon or the Cato. The sports store wasn't hiring.

Next, I walked into the Cash Store (Payday advances/Title loans) and asked. He said they were hiring a manager and an assistant manager. I asked for an application and applied for the manager position.

As SOON as I was done filling out the application the area supervisor walked in (coming from Houston) and said he would interview me right then and there!

15 minutes later, I was the sole manager of the store!!!!!!!

This is my 1st full-time job and I had no previous management experience. I just dressed sharp and spoke clearly. They are starting me at $30,000/yr with full benefits!

My life has completely flipped around and it was all because of that dream!!!

That is an awesome story Kudos pal!

My jaw literally fell open when I read this. Congratulations, friend. God, your subconscious, karma, dumb luck, whatever you want to attribute this to- something's looking out for you. Congratulations, man.

Imagine how I felt when he said, "Well, I would like to offer you this job right now!"

That's really cool. I'm glad you went out looking. Unlike most people that would have been depressed, gone into bankruptcy or thought the government entitled them to something you did something about it. Don't go too crazy with your new earnings though. Be grateful, and make sure you're never going to have to be worried sick about how to feed your family again. Save up as much as you can as an emergency fund and DON'T touch it. This isn't a "oh no the TV broke so let's get a new one fund" this is a "I just got laid off" fund. You may never need it, but you'll be able to sleep better at night knowing it's there.

I really hope you don't plan to support a wife and child on 30,000 a year. Really that is sad and pathetic.

I am sorry, I was being an asshole for saying that. I am sure this is only the start and in time you will move your way up.

30k + full benefits + wife's income + free daycare? = plenty in Texas

Bay City's estimated median house/condo value in 2005: $74,400

Yea, those can really flip your life around. I have a few a week when I'm on my allergy med's, and they can get a little freaky.... like wanting to buy a horse just for the poop

It's OK. In fact, the area manager will be going to another company in August. I'm looking to get that spot.

Plenty of people do it. You won't drive new cars or have expensive vacations but if you're frugal you can pay the bills. If this is his first full time job it's a stepping stone.
