Sorry CKG, but it says "Connection failed. You need to apply the latest patches." I downloaded and installed the patch I'm aware of, but that doesn't seem to help.

Try now - I just put the patch on the demo server - I had forgotten to do that - maybe that was the prob

I got the patch message too when i tried to join from the command line. Make sure you try to join from the ~ menu inside the game. Sorry I had to go so abruptly, company showed up.

For the record, the kill ratio of CKG to me was about 3:1 (and mine were lucky, his were aimed). Anyone up for some warcraft 3?

Holy Moly - who's been training Engy? He "almost" waxed me He won 2 of 3 but only 1 of the 3 rounds was a full one with both of us...and I sqeaked that one out by a kill or 2 Mech - have you been secretly training him again

My fingers and wrist are tired - i'm done for the night - ~6hrs of UT2k3 is enough for me

Hey. I taught both of you guys whatever sneaky tricks I was able to find. Except no one seems to be trying to learn the Shield-Gun jump that lets you get up on top of the rock pillars and pummel from Above. Got news for ya, I had to practice too...

My UT2K3 DEmo has stopped working. It GPF's and says No Video. I tried re-installing the Demo, the patch and tried 3 different Nvidia Detonator driver versions

first you type in this cheat code-- OH WAIT! :Q

Ahem, let's try again...

• you get your Shield Gun out (I map a key for this to facilitate quick switching) and sight on your objective so you're lined up
• hold down the primary fire so the SG is making its jackhammer noise
• continue to hold down the primary fire, aim the SG *straight* down, as down as it'll go, and run toward your objective
• stop firing and single-jump at about the same time, and the SG will kick back off the ground just as you're jumping, allowing you to hit ledges you can't reach otherwise
• remember that this will lop 40-50 points off your health, so don't do it if you're under, say, 80 to 90 health unless you think the risk is worth it

The SG jump amplifies the effect of an elevator jump, allowing me to pop up to one of my favorite sniping roosts in Antalus with just one SG jump from the elevator, if I time it well. In Asbestos, the Lightning-Gun room offers a few cunning places to SG-jump onto if you're in the mood to stage an ambush. You guys fight well enough now that if I goof around with ambushes, I'll lose the match based on frag count.

SG jumps are hard/impossible to do in a high-lag situation, so sometimes I can't use them even when I want to.
