"What immediately caught our eye was the presence of nine (yes, nine) expansion slots for video cards. This allows you to not only install motherboards that are wider than the standard ATX size, but also install dual-slot video cards on the left-most PCI Express x16 slot"

I still don't like the look of the HAF. It looks like it was designed by a sleep deprived 12 year old that had been forced to watch Go Bots for 3 days straight.

I have to agree with you, but the functionality still makes this the case I will likely get.

I guess this is matter of taste when it comes to looks. I happen to like it's no frills look with slight accent.

But this thing got to be the most well thought out design in any case available today. I like the improvement of filters on X over 932. As well as the painted interior. but the additional hot swap slots I find pretty useless. Also there's no longer a possibility of 4x120mm on the side panel. still overall, it's still a top case.

Count me in as one who thinks its aesthetics are horrible. If I was 15 I would probably like it...

i for one think it looks awesome. it's an extension of the same design concepts they used when updating the 690 to the 690 II, only they added a few more features to the HAF X as well that i really like. this case will be at the top of my list when i eventually merge all my 5870s into one box for a 4 way test bed and milkyway box

I have loved every HAF design and I love this one too. It looks absolutely delightful to build in and everything about it seems so well thought out. The exterior... I don't really care for it, but yeah the militaryish theme is definitely something people either like or hate.

Though if I had $200 to spend on a case, I would probably pitch out the extra $50 for the Silverstone Fortress 2.

I will definitely buy this case. I currently have the HAF 932 and love it. It is so easy to buld with because of all the space. With all the improvements in the HAF X, I won't be able to resist.

I don't know why so many people comment on looks of this case. I have to say it's probably something that's not the main feature of this case. If you are into looks, I would look at Cosmo 1000/S or Stacker 8xx even the Antec 1200 has more eye candy.

One thing I wish haf eventually will incorporate is a removable tray for the m.b. will make building and servicing a lot easier. I also want it to be a tad bigger just so it can have more air circulation. I hope many other manufactures can start going 230mm on all their fans as well. It just makes a lot more sense for air circulation and low noise.

I don't see how it being bigger will let it have more air circulation. Lots of big cases end up with dead zones, and I think the HAF X is already big enough as it is :<

A removable mobo tray would be pretty nifty though. Would definitely like to see that even though it seems like the HAF X has more than enough room to work with.

Looks are at or near dead last when it comes to my criteria when looking for a case. Unless its hot pink with giant Hello Kitty faces on it or something. I don't really care what it looks like. Function>form.

There is more than enough room to work with. A motherboard tray would be overkill on a case of this size. I have done 2 builds with my HAF 932 and have had no issue getting my big, clumsy hands around the inside of the case. I think a mb tray would be useful in a smaller case where space comes at a premium. If you haven't done a build in a case this size, you would be amazed at how much easier and quicker it is.

Basically, because it's EATX and has 9 PCI slots, you can install the eVGA SR-2 WS board.
4-way SLI and dual six-core Xeon in a case with USB 3.0. If only I had $5000.

you can also get that same board, and get 2 $500 quad cores instead, and get 8 cores and 6 memory channels for less money than the cost of one six core and a board. that's where i see this boards value actually being quite good

I already have dual quad cores on a supermicro GPU compute board. I would need to go hex core if I wanted to spend that much on an SR-2 and quad SLI

I really want to like this but it not quite there for me yet. Like others have said I'm missing the option for 4 120" fans or rad mount on the door.

I'll be sticking with my HAD 932 for awhile longer, but I'll probably by the 2nd or 3rd gen model of this when they get proper USB3 slots on the front.

EDIT:

HAF X is the first enthusiast case in Cooler Master's product line to support 4-way Crossfire or SLI with its beastly 9 expansion slots. This is for those of you that purchased an EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI motherboard. This unfortunately does not include the massive EVGA SR-2 due to its newly created size. Cooler Master states that the board is over 2 inches longer than the interior of the chassis. But no worries, anything up to EATX will fit comfortably in this case, which is pretty much everything aside from the freakishly large boards like the EVGA SR-2.
