Apparently, I've said some really strange things while I'm in that half-awake/half-asleep state. My roommate last year would almost always stay up later than I would so I'd go to bed and a few hours later, I'd sit up halfway in bed and start saying things.
I think I did both of these things in the same night, about 2 minutes apart from each other. I got up, swearing that I saw something run by our bedroom door (4 people, 2 bedrooms, in an on campus apartment) and out into the living room. I got up, muttering about seeing something and asking my roommate if he saw it, too. I got out to the hallway and looked around and didn't see anything, turned back to my roommate and said "Nevermind." I got back in bed and just a minute later, I started talking. I said something to the effect of "If it were real, it wouldn't be a dream." "Yeah, that sounds about right," my roommate said back. Then I said "You work for these companies, and you fly back and forth and back and forth." "I think you've been playing Freelancer too much." "Yeah, me too." I laid back down and went to sleep.
Interesting night. I remember doing all of that.
