I saw on the History Channel that same guy. They are doing a Restore American Sounds or something like that now. They are ripping everything old like that to .WAV 192kbps and storing it on servers in some archive....

That dude showed how he would restore those old wax reels. He wouldn't give away his secret in how he repaired them, but most of them are one of a kind, so if one is cracked in two, he fixes them, then rips the sound and records it with a computer.

I guess he will have one hell of a time fixing that one ! hahaha

yep, that was a cool show. This guy saves music records over 100 years ago on those wax drums.

You can only hope he already got the recording off that one into a digital medium. He is way too nervous to be on TV.
