Loaded? That's a great price.

Coupe or sedan? HUGE difference there.

Coupe. And it didn't have the nav but really...who gives a fuck about that?

I do. I will never buy the one without Nav.

And Nav may not be only difference. Looks like the one in the OP also has Sports Package (by looking at paddle shifter) and premium package, at least. With such options, my local dealers quoting me about $ 48k. (And who knows if it has more option)

If she/he bought one with sports package and premium package for 42k, I think he/she got a really great deal.

Flappy paddle gearbox...worthless gimmick designed to break and be ubber expensive to repair. Give me a simple clutch pedal and a shifter that actually connects to something mechanical and I'm happy.

Um.. Sports package is not about paddle shifter. Paddle shifter is only $ 100 option anyway. Sports package, however, get you 18" wheel and sports seats.

And my point to begin with is that 335i in OP is fully loaded and how much they are worth. Why are you so negative about those? It doesn't matter whether you think those options are worth or not, the truth is that 335i in OP is fully loaded and your boss' $42k 335i is not even close to that.

I know the hood might need to be replaced. The roof has a lot of holes.

What do you think would be estimated repair bill on this?

Any Do-It-Yourself fixes?

Is this a good deal?

That car is gonna have salvage title, which makes it way expensive for $35K

2009 with 6K miles for $38K

No it doesn't.

Even if it doesn't, which would really surprise me (the dealership from which it came from no doubt claimed it with their inventory insurance), fixing the car the proper way (new roof, hood, trunk etc. etc.) will run into the thousands.

You're much better off just getting one with couple thousand miles.

I'm pretty sure his car has 18" wheels.

Edit-I just priced one out a brand new 2009 335i Coupe with ZSP sport package, metallic paint, satellite radio, iPod/USB adaptor, and smart phone integration for $43,000.

Funny thing is you can buy a slightly used 6-Series for what these cars cost. A friend of mine is looking at a fully loaded 2007 650i with 19,000 miles on it for less than a new 335i Coupe costs. Depreciation is a bitch.

People on there have replaced the HPFP 2-3 times and they aren't even at 20k. Same issues with the 535i. I'd stay away from that until BMW figures out a solution.

BMW extended fuel pump warranty to 100k/10 years. My 335i has been the most reliable car I've ever had. After 3 years my lease is almost over and I'm actualy thinking of buying it out now.

If the roof didn't have so much damage, I would go for it. I'd replace the hood and the trunk with aftermarket parts anyways.

My 09 335i had its HPFP and fuel injectors replaced at 2500 miles. Unfortunately, they haven't extended the warranty on the 09s, only the 07-08 models. I've also had issues with the radio not working which was fixed. It seems the 09s have more fuel pump problems that the older models. That said, I still love the car.

I paid $42K including tax on my car. It only has sports package and Logic 7 upgrade though. I highly doubt you can get the car with sports and premium for $42K. Premium is a $3K upgrade. I got my car last year when car sales were completely in the dumps so I got a pretty good deal. With premium, you are looking at $48K incl tax.

You can call a slushbox (automatic transmission) whatever you want but a manual transmission is commonly referred to as a gearbox.

Give me a car with a proper shift lever and a clutch any day. You can have your DSGGSGSGSGSGS's and flappy paddle gearboxes.

I understand how you feel about autos since most of my cars including my current one have been manual but the autos in the 335i are very nice. They actually have better 0-60s than the manual (unless you happen to be Michael Schumacher).

Yeah, I know they are really really good but I just enjoy the involvement of driving a manual transmission car. It takes more skill and it is more rewarding.

BTW-I hate CVTs too.

I would like to try the manual in the 370Z with rev matching. That sounds like a neat feature.
