BMW 335i

I know the hood might need to be replaced. The roof has a lot of holes.

What do you think would be estimated repair bill on this?

Any Do-It-Yourself fixes?

Is this a good deal?

Wow, if you were planning on keeping it, that's a deal. I'd imagine the carfax on that might look pretty rough. You can get a carbon fibre roof for the car, and as it's black, it will look pretty slick a la the M3. You'd want a new trunk and a new hood as well, both of which can be replaced fairly cheaply, compared to the pretty drastic $20k price difference between a new 335i and that one. The remaining damage to the pillars and trim will take a bit of attention.

Overall it's very worth it if you've got the scratch and the inclination to make it a custom 3-series. You'd need fairly significant cash on hand for the parts / repairs / alternate vehicle while that one gets done up. I'd imagine you could do the roof, hood, trunk, and other body panel / trim repair for less than $7k or so with patience. That leaves a fair amount of room to get an LSD, ECU tune (turbo, redline move, etc), perhaps an exhaust upgrade, M wheels, whatever.

They have more 09 Bimmers with hail damage at super reduced prices. I'm guessing they are from the same dealer which sold it to EMC. Must have been a severe storm.

Wow, that dealership must have gotten hit hard by a storm. I bet EMC bought them all from one.

No, the 335i is a much better deal.

Average dealer auction value for a 2007 525xi is $26,084 for a car with ~42,400 miles. And that's for a car without any previous significant accident damage. $26k for a salvage car is not even close to a bargain.

Yeah thats salvage titled and wayy to overpriced. 335i is also a better car in my opinion because of the 3.0L Twin-Turbo 300hp engine. 0-60 times average 5.1 seconds and have been known to reach 4.9 seconds.

I really wanted to get a 335i for the longest time but when I read the BMW forums, they seem to have way too many issues with the fuel pump and now I'm reading people getting injectors repaired. People on there have replaced the HPFP 2-3 times and they aren't even at 20k. Same issues with the 535i. I'd stay away from that until BMW figures out a solution.

Fill the dings with bondo and put that carbon effect tape on top like the kids are doing.

Yeah I didn't notice the salvaged title at first. The car looked brand new otherwise and I'd rather get a 5-series than a 3-series personally.

I do. I will never buy the one without Nav.

And Nav may not be only difference. Looks like the one in the OP also has Sports Package (by looking at paddle shifter) and premium package, at least. With such options, my local dealers quoting me about $ 48k. (And who knows if it has more option)

If she/he bought one with sports package and premium package for 42k, I think he/she got a really great deal.

Flappy paddle gearbox...worthless gimmick designed to break and be ubber expensive to repair. Give me a simple clutch pedal and a shifter that actually connects to something mechanical and I'm happy.
