Well, because Valve threatens to ban your account if you do. Also, who is going to buy a steam account for a new game if they already one? It will just become too much of a hassle since you can't transfer steam games between accounts.

I didn't see any mentioning of a ban nor did it say they were prohibiting the selling of your own account information to go with the game. All I see is a message warning the public that some off these accounts on EBay were stolen and were obtained illegally and they are not responsible.

Did you even read the post? They specifically say that selling Steam accounts is against the EULA and they will ban those they find selling. What more do you want? Sorry, but this is just wrong.

fscking stupid in my opnion

because valve is so fscking lazy they havent finished uploading hl2 to the content server in iceland I have no other means of playing the game unless I get the warez version, after all I have already payd for the silver package and only gotten cs:source out of it since that is the only thing on the local content server

This sounds like a scare tactic to me. I am personally not familiar with the way this warez version works, but it makes absolutely zero sense both financially and technically for Valve to put out a test warez version.

Uhh, where did that $40 million number come from?... Even if it took them 4 years, development costs sure aren't $10 million a year for development company the size of valve (about 50 employees).

Gabe Newell doesn't have the brains to associate BT downloaders with Steam accounts. Yes, I know it's a matter of "Match the IPs" - I'm just implying that he's that stupid.

Because Gabe told us that they spent $40 million. Read the gamespot article, it's very informative.
