Half-Life 2 to be nVidia-only game???

I just hope there is a HL 2! HL is still my favorite SP game of all time. It broke new ground in so many ways. As far as the graphics go, they were very good for its day. It will be hard for the sequel to live up to the original.

Please, how exactly will they make it run on ONLY nVidia cards? Does nVidia have an exclusive API all to themselves like 3DFX had? I don't think so. This is BS, count on it!

Half Life had a lot more going for it than just graphics, too. It was a rivetting experience from end to end. The only other game to keep me so absorbed was the Descent family, particularly Descent II, and again, it wasn't eye candy that made it absorbing.

Excuse me, people.. but I would like to point out that the majority of the people who game are intel gamers either working on the i810, i810E, i810T, i815E, or i845G/GL/GE. Making it exclusive to Nvidia would kill any games chance of success.

Integrated graphics rule the market, people.

HL-II will probably suck any way - there is NO way to follow up the first 2/3rds of the original without disappointing just about everyone's expectaions.

Maybe HL-2 will be set completely on Xen. :Q

What's your take on the last 1/3? Once HL got into the alien world, it kinda lost its touch IMO.

I HATED Xen! It sucked and was so stupid I really wanted to "cheat" . . . but I suffered through it. The first 2/3rds were brillaint - the last third is like a weak and boring (platform) expansion pak.

Did I mention I hated Xen? How can ANYONE call HL the "best FPS ever" when the last 1/3 was "crap"?

Have to agree with you there. I hated Xen as well. It seemed like they spent a lot of time on the game, then got rushed to finish it up and just cranked out Xen.

There was nothing particularly wrong with going to Xen as an ending. It just was not as well done as the rest of the game.

notice how there isn't even a radeon 7500 listed, or an 8500, or ANYTHING geforce 4 (Ti or MX). Heck, it didn't even list an 845G chipset choice. That survey is old buddy, and thus is not a good source of info.
