The Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition is apparently actually limited and not just a marketing phrase. When this initial shipment of them runs out, it's over. Just more reason to buy it. For you Canadians, try a pricematch using DVD Soon.

I saw Microcenter here in long island NY announcing Halo 2 on November 4th instead of 9th.

THE VERDICT

Graphics - Spectacular scenes, deep textures, powerful use of bloom effects for impact.
Immersion - Unless nature calls, my guess is that you'll be glued to the screen from start to finish without a break. Now that's immersive!
Sound - The ambient effects are incredible in 5.1, but the underlying score adds a layer of intensity to every scene that's simply incredible. The soundtrack album will win awards, and will hopefully transcend the videogame industry into bigger mainstream appreciation.
Design - Perfectly paced initially, the story gets a little rushed, and you definitely will feel like you've played bits of this before... only it never looked or sounded this good, or had so many options.

+ Can't rave enough about the music.
+ Value packed with multiplayer.
+ Incredible attention to detail.

? Any chance we'll get any single-player downloadable content? That'd be sweet but highly unlikely.

err North america is after australia.

that list would be true if its world wide on 11/9 but its not.

I really want someone to explain why this has grown to be such an event. I never played th first Halo, but this game has a huge buzz going on and that its going to sell extremely well. I would expected San Andreas to sell better, but can someone explain why this game will sell more.
Oh, and I want to clarify I'm not trying to be a dick, its a genuine question.

After it's all said and done, San Andreas will probably sell more... Simply because there's a larger PS2 base out there.

Halo is about as good as console shooters get... And Halo 2 will (most likely) be even better.
