Halo 2 for the PC

I just saw at Gamestop Halo 2 is coming out some time this year(Never ever trust their ETAs)

Well, It's about freaking time. It only took them like 3 years to port it.

plus they had to come up with Live for Windows, which is free with a paid 360 subscription.

Lets see. Here are my options.

Spend a grand to build a new computer so I can run vista so I can play Halo 2. or buy a Xbox 360 and be able to play Halo 1 - 3..................

I take the other option. Launder money to the terroist penguin "Tux" in his fight againts the evil vole.

I loved halo both on pc and xbox and halo 2 was awesome as well. The ending sucked, but the game kicked butt. I cant wait for it to arrive on the PC.

I found Halo for PC boring as hell. Normally, I am good about finishing games, but I just quit after about 2 hours in.

As skilled as I am in Counter Strike, Half-Life, and all other PC games. I suck with the ghey console controls. They are unnatural.

you may have enjoyed it. i never played Halo 2 because I couldn't get myself to enjoy Halo 1. It was the atypical shooter that did not come with a story that was strong enough. Some say it was a good story, but the whole thing felt used and done already. It didn't have that heart that I like in my FPS games.
controversially, I enjoyed Killzone for PS2, because although it's story is one that has been done numerous times throughout history (stealing it from history itself even), it had some of its own originality to it, and kept the story moving and powerful.

Yes... MS is going to find a way to crap their new Hollywood DRMfest down your throat one way or another.

But it's cheaper to buy a xbox 360. It makes no sence to invest all the money and time to port agame no one is going to buy because no one can play it.

halo 1 was better than halo2.

they dumbed halo down because too many noobs were getting pistol raped by players with skill. it went from a nice aim based game to more of a run n gun for jocks game.

Dual boot or extra HD with Vista on it just for playing Halo 2 then go back to using windows XP for another 5 years.

im sure someone will port it to xp. the game doesnt even use directx10 (says gamespots week old article or something), but it uses the "rapid install" feature which supposedly only vista can support. whatever.

I cant believe you guys are raping halo. That game is the shizzit. It was so much fun. At least for about 10hrs of my life. It's unamerican not to like halo.

I think I'm gonna have to put that one back out and replay it.

What the fvck is so special about Halo? Why do kids go nuts over it? Is it the overuse of specular highlights on the bumpmapping that make kids go gaga over the shiny bling bling textures? If that's the case then I have some nice shiny rocks I made in a tumbler to give you. That should keep you entertained for a few hours.

I never played Halo for xbox and waited for it to come out for the PC. One of two fps campaigns I ever finished (HL being the other). I can't say I'm really excited about Halo2 for pc, but I might end up playing it. If it includes coop (which Halo for pc desperately needed), then I will be picking it up for sure.

It's because it's easy as hell to setup a multiplayer game with your friends and plop down on a couch.

But i wouldn't expect a comment any less than yours coming from a guy who has a link to his PC that probably cost well over $1K in his sig.
