I absolutely hate MS for requiring Vista. However, once I do manage to install that deathtrap on my system, this might be one of the games I try Windows Live with...

I would have been interested in this back when it was released on console ... at this point I couldn't care less though.

i want to see the reviews, because from the last set of screens i saw.. it looked like a half-assed port.

If it was a full fledged, DirectX 10 game that would take full advantage of Vista, I would buy it. But since it looks like an upgrade of the Xbox version with support for higher resolutions, count me out. I've owned it since Nov. 2004 and by now I need more than higher resolutions to bring me back.

I played it for like and hour on Xbox. I might give it a try on PC since I never beat it and have the first. But not until I can pick it up for $20 or less.

I'll definitely play it on PC.. Loved it on Xbox and I'm sure I'll love it on PC.. The vista requirement is ridiculous though as we have said many times already..

So will this be like the PC port of the original Halo, in that even high-end video cards of the day will struggle to run it (despite graphics no better than the original other than resolution)? If so, no thanks

I loved Halo on the PC and will probably get this at some point after it comes out. It does piss me off though that it is Vista only for no good reason.

is it dx10 at all?

if not there might eventually a workaround ... for XP ....

MS maybe doesn't plan to sell very many
- just as a "promotion" for Vista

if they were even *smarter*, they would have a Vista "gaming bundle" - with Halo2 included

MS employees and viral marketeers, pass my suggestion on to Bill

I just started playing Halo2 on my 360. I was going to wait for the PC version but figured I'd just finish it on the 360 since it requires Vista.

i dont think there's any DX10 in it. i'm expecting it to bring an 8800GTX to its knees just because of poor porting.

It requires DX10 but I strongly suspect it does not use any DX10 features.

MS really dropped the ball on this one. almost 3 years too late and on the wrong OS and think Halo3 will be out "soon". I'm not paying 50 bucks + a system upgrade for a 3 year old game even if it gives me the chance to pwn with a keyboard and mouse.

The port of Halo 1 to the PC was awful and Halo 2 is well over 2 years old. I probably wouldn't try this if it was free and ran on XP. Microsoft should have included this with Vista at no charge.

Actually, the port of halo 1 to the pc was great. didnt need much horsepower to run well, had the mouse to aim better, and multiplayer was great as well.

I think you are talking about a different game

I have to agree with you. Halo is one of the few games I have played through twice without getting bored...

I'd really only be interested in it if it has support for coop that is in both XBox games yet they axed from the PC version the first time around. To PC gamers, Halo might not be anything special, but its coop is the sh1t if only because there are hardly any games that offer such game play anymore.

I beg to differ. That game was boring as hell for me, only one of few games I never finished due to pure boredom. Not even going to bother with Halo 2.

The Halo 1 port was good? Isn't this the game that wouldn't enable AA no matter what you did? And given the average graphics it had it didn't run that well. I would agree it had great multiplayer if it had coop but it didn't so it didn't stand out there either. The best thing I can say about it is it had a KB & mouse instead of a crappy controller that's not saying much.
