Hamburger meat recipies

I'm in charge of the meat for a BBQ with some friends tonight. What's your secret for making good burgers? I'm thinking I'll mix them up with the egg, oatmeal, and then put BBQ sauce straight in with the meat. Any other suggestions?

I get Mr. Yoshida's Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce from Costco, then mix that in with the meat. It comes out sweet and tasty.

oh, and what proportions of oatmeal and how many eggs should I use? I'm making for 4. Last time I just put in a cup of oatmeal for that many ppl, but didn't know if i should have used more or less.

Take two thin patties, put feta cheese on one, put the other one on top and crimp the edges. mmmmmm.......

Yeah, don't mess with things. People like their burgers different ways and mixing anything into the meat to supposedly make it better will only make it better for some and will make it worse for others. Use good beef, grill it well and let the eater determine what seasonings he wants on it. Mixing barbecue sauce or other crap into the meat is a waste.

Nothing. The best burgers have nothing else in them
But, there are some options:
*. Add a little worcestershire sauce
*. Shake a little montreal steak seasoning or Hog's Breath or whatever you like on them.
*. Add cheddar cheese and ranch seasoning to the meat

you're not making a meatloaf, you're making hamburgers.

get 80/20 or 75/25 ground chuck with a little salt/pepper on the outside. Handle the meat very sparingly to make patties (like no more than 5 seconds each.) Use thumb to make indentation in center to prevent them from turning into balls. turn once...don't press.

best burger you've ever tasted.

an update:

I added a touch of montreal steak spice to about half of the burgers while I was mixing. All of those who ate liked them the best, so that's a plus.
