I used to like pickles on burgers. But nowadays they're too overpowering, taking away the beefy taste of the burger.

I'd say leave it out of the burger and have a slice served on the side.

yes on a crappy burger (along with mustard and anything else which kills the flavour) and no on a decent burger made of proper meat.

Pickles completely ruin a hamburger. Disgusting.

Pickles are ok with me if they are warm and soggy like in a hamburger from mcdonalds or burger king. They compliment the dehydrated onions and ketchup so well. I never like them when I buy fresh ones and put them in my own burgers...

Vegetables are for salads, while I can't recall seeing a salad with pickles on it. They're a vegetable and none of them have a place on a hamburger.

Love pickles. A must on burgers. But the pickles should be drained and juice allowed to drip off. Otherwise, a spear I can munch on is just as good.

Heart disease is what makes food fun. Salt brought by pickles constricts arteries. Flavors swirl uniquely when chewing the odd wet pickle. Vasoconstriction increases alternates. Attentiveness enhances food memories. The fun of reminiscing later over a more sundry flavor only costs a diseased hart.

I Love good dill pickle but not on a burger; the majority of the posters polled they want the pickle but posted they want it on the side. Not enough options in the poll. I think you needed a least 'pickle on the side, not in the burger,' Of course as an old motorcycle racer my answer would have been:

I don't want a pickle; just want to ride on my motor-sickle.

The debate was never about the health benefits =P

not a pickle thread.

What is it then? I thought from the thread topic is was about pickles and hamburgers. A good pickle goes with a good hamburger and many apparently agree with me; saying they prefer their pickle on the side, going so far as to say they remove the pickle slices from a hamburger before eating the burger.

I merely posted the Poll opt6ions were flawed and suggested a choice like "A pickle with a hamburger, not on the hamburger" would have been an appropriate additional option.

If you only read my title your head is squarely up your posterior. Many polls have a last option which is more a gag than a real option. Are you just disappointed there was not a "I'm a complete idiot" option.

Explain your reason for posting and what is wrong with a less inappropriate gag option like a line from an Arlo Guthrie song. If you're too young to know the song; here is a link to that lyrics: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/...ycle_song_the_significance_of_the_pickle.html

It is clearly not about the pickle but also is the only gag reference I could come up with that had 'pickle' in it.

Explain why I should be attacked for my post or change your user name to something like Linux_Troll

If you're too fucking stupid to figure out the thread topic and poll then I can't help you. If you want it on the side then create said thread with pickles on the side as a poll option.

Pickles make the burger. The acidic vinegar flavor is a great offset of the sickly sweet ketchup.

Surprised that most posts are anti-pickle while the poll is overwhelmingly pro-pickle.

You're obviously in the wrong if you're using ketchup on your burgers

Dill is a bit overrated. But in a nutshell, I don't really care if a burger has pickles or not. Don't miss them if they aren't there, won't pick them off if included.

Pickle on the side usually goes to waste. To me that screams "we're not confident enough in our burger to decide if it should have pickles or not, so here it is as a garnish."

Actually, I prefer bread and butter pickles over dill for a few things, but that would be another topic again all together.

Not a fan of sweet pickles. Awhile ago I bought German made gherkins, and didn't read the ingredients as I normally would. Found out after trying them, they had sugar added. It wasn't a "sweet" pickle, but it had sweetness which I don't like at all. Afaic, Claussen is the gold standard for pickles.
