Eh, it looks like they're doing one Star Wars movie per year... alternating between the new trilogy and just anthology stories. That's fine by me.

There's been four different fucking Law & Order series in the same year and people bitch about having a single Star Wars movie per year

Disney paid a lot of money for the license, I can't really blame them for the subsequent milking-the-hell-out-of-it. It's kind of their thing.

And they've already profited from that purchase with the take home from a single release...even prior to DVD sales, right? ...or am I over-remembering that box office to the tune of + $4.4 billion?

Yeah, that sounds right. I recall pointing out months ago how they are easily going to recover the cost with just this one film, but I now I realize that I was considering merch, DVD's, IP, licensing into that.

I really don't like the fact they are doing a Solo movie (and a rumored Fett movie)
Most of the awesomeness of these characters (especially Fett) revolved around them being mysterious and WANTING to know more, but only getting to learn VERY little.

No matter what this Solo movie ends up being, it's NEVER going to be able to live up to the mythology that has been granted to the Han Solo character already.

Disney buying the franchise (AND all the other IP with it) was a no-brainer. I wish I had $4,000,000,001 when the deal was made. Best investment anyone could have made. Disney will be printing money off Star Wars, Indiana Jones etc for decades to come.

Yeap. Deal of the century for Disney. And it wasn't just Star Wars in the bundle! It was ALL the Lucas junk -- including the entire Indy franchise too!

To be fair, I think Candy Crush alone makes like 2.5 billion a year... Absolutely unreal. I also suspect that Blizzard used their know-how to help implement Hearthstone on mobile devices. It's something that sounds absolutely ridiculous but probably makes them money in the end...
