I sort of overflowed my cpu with arctic ceramique paste. I need to pull it out with my hands, but I dont want my skin to touch the paste.

Is it alright to wrap my hands around a plastic bag to handle the cpu and to clean it off?

i heard plastic bags might have some static ....

his skin is too sensitive.

go to your sister's room, ask her to apply some extra long finger NAILS onto your own, after you're done with the installation, ask that they be removed at once.

what are you stupid, use your hands, get them dirty and wash 'em.

Yea, do it like a man! Its only paste. If it was toxic radiosactive sludge then gloves may be needed... buts its not!

I don't think the arctic ceramique paste is that bad. What you don't want is to get the silver stuff on your skin. It will leave ugly gray spots, that are hard to get out.

Hi, Not a common plastic bag. An antistatic bag is conductive so probably isn't a good idea either. Best to wear a wrist strap. If no strap available grab a metal part of the case before touching the Processor. I have removed many many without any precautions with no problems, but still better to be careful.

Good Luck, Jim

straight from arctic cooling site:

DO NOT use your bare finger to apply or smooth the compound (skin cells, and oils again)

Well, your bare finger would suck because there would be air trapped in the compound spread with your finger. You wont die from touching the stuff jeez. Thats there for people with allergies to everything and are scared of their own shadow.

I'm pretty sure they want you to avoid touching the machine parts to prevent corrosion, not because its going to damage your skin.

how the heck do you "overflow" with arctic silver? you're only supposed to put on a 0.003" - 0.005" layer.

You don't want to touch it when you apply it, but taking it off, who cares?

I don't understand, why not use some paper towel soaked in alcohol? How would your fingers even be able to remove it?? Use a peice of stiff thin plastic to just scoop it off.

Scoop with plastic -> Rub clean with alcohol + paper towel -> Let it dry -> Re-Apply new Thermal Paste

DON'T EVER use Ceramique on a cpu, that's not what it's made for. It's made for PERMANENT application.
