Hi everyone,

this is my setup -

E6400 OC'ed at 3.0 (stock voltage - vcore on normal in bios)
Gigabyte ds3
2 G Corsair 675
memory is manually set at 4-4-4-12

I ran Ortho stress for 25 hrs - no errors.

Idle temp (bios) is 32-34 C
Load temp (bios) is 52-54 C

However, sometimes when I try and reboot, the system will just hang after it shuts down .. both dvdrom/hd lights stay on.. nothing happens till I unplug the powercord and reboot. So I figured maybe my vcore is too low so I slowly upped it to 1.40 - but it still happens. I lowered the OC gradually back down to 2.8 and set the voltage to normal (stock) but the random hanging at reboots are still happening.

Any idea whats going on? Any help/tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vcore is not stock when set to "normal" and oc. The mobo raises it with FSB, set it manually to some value. What bios u using, try updateing...

Yeah, I'm having the same issue with my setup (sig). No matter what I do I can't make my system freeze / fail. No amount of stress can make it unstable, tried crazy stuff like running two instances of Prime95 together with another two instances of SuperPi, both pairs assigned to different CPUs for maxium pleasure. No errors. Tried them separately. No probs. Tried running different 3DMarks, no errors. Yet every time I turn my comp on after a night's rest, the VERY FIRST boot always fails. No blue screen, nothing, just black screen on windows boot. The second boot ALWAYS successful. As if it has something to do with the comp not being used for a few hours. Now try to explain that. I just don't get it.

Im using the F4C bios currently - I've read that it has been successful for others.

As for the problem.. I will try to manually set vcore again but I rarely see others go past 1.4. I am thinking it might be my ram that is rated at 675. Everytime I OC and manually tighten the timing to 4-4-4-12 - it will hang at reboot. However, everytime I set the timing to auto and OC - the hang ups at boot will become much less frequent but the timing is all off - it becomes like 3 6 6 18 or something. Maybe I should upgrade to the XMS PC6400 .. :T
