Haven't checked lately, but these same monitors were available with $100 rebate for $104 at Office Depot.

Hint, how to buy a second one.

PC Connection is a better deal, since you don't have to pay sales tax and there is a coupon for free shipping.

Got my $20 rebate today, so it was 5 weeks for $100, 8 weeks for $20. Easy deal on a super nice and cheap 19" LCD. If it lasts until the 3-yr. warranty runs out it will have been a steal.

So how good is this monitor? I'm an LCD newbie. I what is better than what, but I dont' know any good starting points.

Is 700:1 a good contrast?
Is this a digital screen or analog?
what is the difference from the $800 LCDs and this one?

And is a 8ms response time fine for playing games offline and online?

Is a 19" LCD the same size as a 19" TV? I'm looking to replace my tv and wondering how well this would work.

Update:

They just dropped the price $10 to $219.95. So now it's 99.95 AR plus shipping. That counteracts some of the shipping costs. For me, it would be $116.71 AR and shipping.

Uh, this will be the case with any LCD monitor. If you don't run at the native resolution of the monitor, you won't get the best picture. That's the nature of the beast.

I'm in TX and was charged sales tax. I sent them off an email asking about it earlier this morning. Still waiting for a response.

We use VGA on the one at work, and it looks good. We have 6-8 LCDs all running off of VGA, and this one looks as good as the rest of them, even though it cost half as much as the rest.

I had gotten it for 109 earlier with free shipping and no tax in NY. As of Monday they are charging tax for NY so add another 20 bucks to the bill if you are in NY.
