I've had the Acer AL2216W 22" LCD for about 1.5 years and have no regrets whatsoever. I believe I paid $299 for it and it was a steal at that price.

I regret it, somewhat. It won't play my PS3 at 1080p (and downscale it), yet my crappy, off-brand 19" will. Lame...720p is noticeably less pretty on the Acer.

5 extra minutes of researching would have told me that the Acer didn't, but most other monitors would.

Outside of that, though, I felt like I got a good deal.

I can't speak for this model but I've been pretty happy with their 28" version.

These need a lot of tweaking out of the box. After that they are pretty decent for low cost TN. Doesn't come with a DVI either, I got a DVI-D from monoprice.

Nice. I used to have a Hanns-G 22" with only VGA and HDMI on it. Had to buy an HDMI-DVI cable separately, and the monitor told Windows it was 1080p, even though it didn't truely have that resolution.

Deal is still alive! I need a decent monitor for my second system and after much debate bit on this. I realize it likely won't be as good as a higher end model but at less than half the price of top manufacturers monitors it certainly falls in the right price range.

HDCP is for content-protection not for display/resolution.

1080p HD is 1920x1080, this monitor's max resolution (or recommended) is 1680x1050, which means that a HD signal will "re-fitted" or whatever you want to call it to fit the monitor's resolution. You'll lose some quality.

I think there aren't any 22" on the market that support 1080 resolution. If there are, it will be very very expensive.

would you even notice HD on a small screen? or would regular dvd's look fine with a 22"?

Ordered mine Sunday night and got it this morning! Have to pay tax here in TN but there is some benefit to having them in the same state.

I have it hooked up here in the office and don't notice any dead pixels and the picture quality is very good.
