I have acquiesced to the idea that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right that is guaranteed by the Constitution, although I do not believe that is what the framers intended. I just hope that we can have sensible legislation without either side pushing extremist positions out of fear or suspicion.

Agreed. When so many people consider you a murder and child killer for simply owning a gun it's best to just be quiet and vote accordingly. I'm guilty of engaging in the pointless debate, though I don't believe any of my posts have risen to the level of DERP.

The irony is that the demonizing of gun owners is helping solidifying support against any further gun control legislation. They called Trump supporters "deplorables" which pissed a bunch of people off and basically guaranteed Trump's election. You'd think they'd learn.

Calling someone "Hitler" or insulting the way someone raises their daughter is no way to win a debate.

Pretty sure a lot of folks did lose their shit. However I have no problem at all with any Amendments at all, even 11 through 27, and should I ever move out of the city limits I'll be exercising my second amendments rights like everyone else.

Not everyone fits squarely in either lib or conservative camp. Most folks are middle of the road.
