I did live under commie/socialist rule and now I reside in the US (LEGALLY) so I can tell from my own experience from both sides.
US is not perfect, far from it but at least we have the opportunity/chance to see/hear/participate/discuss of other news sources that openly criticize the government/big corporations/powerful people/etc. without fear of "disappearing" or turn up dead from "accidents".
Try to do that in commie/socialist countries such as China/N. Korea/Vietnam/Cuba/etc. and see how well you will be treat.
Oh, UberRed, did you chart exclude the number of non violent drug offenders?
