"Happy" Slapping

In one video clip, labelled Bitch Slap, a youth approaches a woman at a bus stop and punches her in the face. In another, Knockout Punch, a group of boys wearing uniforms are shown leading another boy across an unidentified school playground before flooring him with a single blow to the head.
In a third, Bank Job, a teenager is seen assaulting a hole-in-the-wall customer while another youth grabs the money he has just withdrawn from the cash machine.

Welcome to the disturbing world of the "happy slappers" - a youth craze in which groups of teenagers armed with camera phones slap or mug unsuspecting children or passersby while capturing the attacks on 3g technology.

Concern over rise of 'happy slapping' craze

The last time I was in the UK strolling through central London I saw about a half-dozen people who had been accosted.

The Brits needs a tough conservative like Rudy Guliani to restore order to the cesspool.

As to this article, is it possible that this is being blown out of proportion? Idiots doing stupid things with cameras has been around for a long time, making the cameras smaller simply makes it easier for the idiots. I seriously doubt that this is some kind of epidemic. And even if it is, do we need to get on P&N and express our outrage over everything that happens in the world? Is that really going to help? Of course I'm not in favor of it, just like I'm not a real big fan of any violent crimes.

In Aug of 1999 Tony Martin of Norfolk county confronted two burglars in his living room. Fred Barras with 29 criminal convictions was shot and killed in the incident. His partner Brendon Fearon (34 criminal convictions escaped unharmed. Martin was sentenced to life in prison. Fearon was in prison a short time later convicted of selling heroin. Fearon was released before Martin was paroled and given 5,000 pounds of the taxpayers money to assist him in suing Martin for damages. He alledges that he can no longer enjoy sex scince seeing his partner killed and he breaks down in tears when watching a martial arts movie. He's vowed to have Martin killed and his cousin admits that they've placed a bounty on Martins head. Martin no longer resides in his own home out of fear. Burglars have killed 66 homeowners in the past 5 years. They no longer wait for homes to be empty before breaking and entering.

All handguns were outlawed in Britain on Feb 27 1998. Handgun crime jumped 40%. Britons have been jailed for carrying walking sticks, key rings, afro combs and knitting needles as "offensive weapons" Chief constable Kenneth Williams in Norfolk county is on the record stating that if someone breaks into your home all you should do is "shout loudly". Lord Chief Justice Woolf has stated that "burglars should not go to prison at all"

The 1998 British crime survey estimated that crime rates were four times higher than statistics estimated because people dont bother to report most crimes anymore. Britain has surpassed the U.S. in all major crime categories except murder. Your'e six times more likely to be robbed in London than in New York City.(The Daily Mirror).

The bill -- signed in Tallahassee as the National Rifle Association's lobbyist, Marion Hammer, looked over Bush's shoulder -- goes into effect Oct. 1, The Palm Beach Post reported.

Floridians already have some of the most gunowner friendly laws in the nation. They have the right to carry concealed weapons and can get around background checks if they buy their firearms at gun shows.

The new law lets people "meet force with force, including deadly force."

It applies when they are under an attack that prevents death or bodily harm.

Residents will no longer have a duty to retreat when they encounter a threat outside the home. The bill said they have the "right to stand his or her ground."

The new law expands an existing statute that allows residents to use deadly force inside their homes.

The police and sheriff depts. are going to LOVE this. They better start hiring more coroners.

Ironic? Maybe they thought he was the best guy for the job. That doesn't mean he never did anything wrong.

I know it's difficult to understand, but many people are able to go outside of their party if they see someone they want in office. I personally think the whole party line ballots should be thrown out. If you can't put a little thought into your voting, don't vote.

There's a difference between banning guns (which is stupid, imo) and limiting their use. This new law will allow people to shoot someone they don't like and claim they felt threatened for their life. Innocent until proven guilty, right?

This is in response to that woman that shot a Burglar in her home but was sent to Jail because the Court said she had an open window that she should've ran to, put her 2 kids out and then somehow crawl out herself all the while the Burglar was coming down the stairs saying what he will do to the kids first and then her.
