I put the turkey in the smoker this morning at 6:30....should be good to go around noon or a bit after....dogs are very excited......

My friend's dad passed away yesterday....cancer plus he was in a wheel chair for the longest time. She's not dealing with it very well....best of luck to you and your dad, and family. She told me earlier, "Enjoy every moment you can with the ones you love for they can go any day"

I should be nicer to my folks....

Reading posts like these make it tough to be in the holiday spirit, it will be tough for me as well; I found out Tuesday that my friend has cancer again for the 3rd time. It doesn't look good, . I'll be with his family today, it's kinda going to be a subdued Thanksiving feast. With that said, I'm still thankful for all I have and feel Blessed to be around my friends that have become my 2nd family over many years. Happy Thanksgiving...

I'll be driving two hours to the airport, and then hopping a plane down to Tucson, AZ for a business trip. Once I get down there I'll try and find a place to eat at if I can find one that's open and then probably go watch a movie.

Edit - And my wife has to work today, tomorrow, saturday & sunday.

She has to work Christmas Eve & Christmas Day as well as New Year's Eve.

I am going to be having some chicken legs,for supper/dinner.

I was supposed to have turkey with my Mom,at some restaurant,was supposed to ride with,
Mom,stepdad,and one sister,and her b/f;was told be there at Noon,or a little before;
when i got to Moms house,the car was gone,i figured they had left.
{its a 25-35 min drive south from my home to Mom's}

I drove back home,was 1 mile from my house when the cell phone rang.
"where are you?"
I am almost home,where are you,Mom?

"We are waiting here for you!"

I said,uh,i was at your house at Noon,exactly,and your car was gone,the garage door was up,empty.

"I went and picked up sis,and her b/f".

If i had tried to go back,they would have all been late for the reservations,as it was a 30-40 min.
drive further south,from Moms......
I told her I am sorry,please go without me. ... doh!
