I have several of their Vice Grip type locking pliers and think they are at least as good if not better, at a huge discount.
I got some mini HF vicegrips for work after seeing the real ones were made in China now. They weren't worth a shit. I broke them in less than a year. I ended up finding some real ones at a flea market. They've held up great. Of course...

Hmm. ??? I'd like to think "genius!"

Well, for sure, they wouldn't be what Fred Astaire would grab for one of his Hollywood dance numbers, but they are hell of versatile and pretty damn tough, comfy too. You might say they have it all... well, like I say, you don't wear them to gala events. Guess I'm more a rough and tumble guy...

Go back to my original comment and google any words you didn't understand. All will become clear (or rather sticky white).

You're welcome.

I have a number of other types of gloves from HF. Among those is a favorite, which I wear in extra cold weather on my bicycle:

Western Safety
Cold Weather
Water Proof
Extra Large
Item #96612

Uh, but a search for the item there at their website brings up an interminal spinning cursor. Guess they cancelled the item.

Harbor freight seems to change out their stuff every couple years. Last year I was looking at purchasing a light duty plasma cutter from there, and now, nowhere to be found...

I just got an email a few days ago where their president announced they were working on increasing the quality of all their tools and carry more items. I really only go there for the latex gloves and one off tools that I need once or twice. It's convenience to have around.

I used to go a ton more than I do these days. Fact is, I have a LOT of their tools, but most of them still work just fine. Once or twice tools? Well, I'm about a one minute bicycle ride from Berkeley's Tool Lending Library. They have most of those things. Occasionally there's a tool they don't carry for one reason or another and I might hit HF for it or go elsewhere, 'cause the nearest HF is 15+ miles from me I think.

Maybe an exaggeration, but you know what I mean. I'm not sure if I'm aware of any shops that like the one you mentioned. That would be a nice resource though. HF is good for what it is. Glad they opened one not too far from me.

Wish they'd open one nearer me. It's been over 20 years and they haven't. I think they try to avoid the denser urban areas around here. They probably have better success where it's suburban, even bordering on rural territory. People in those regions are more self sufficient and inclined to buy tools. City dwellers aren't as handy... on average.

Their mailers & newspaper inserts used to have a choice of several free items (limit one/visit), but lately all I'm seeing is some kind of rechargeable light. I think they should and maybe will get back to offering a choice for a freebie, it would seem to be no big deal.

They always present a 20 off coupon on maximum one item. They used to occasionally have a 25% off coupon, but when they do that nowadays it's always for a 1 or 2 day special event. I don't think I've ever gone to one of those. I'm just so far away, I can't just drop in there, it's a special trip. When I make that trip I include a stop at Costco, maybe Walmart, kill a few birds with one stone. I'd hope to have time to leisurley walk through the store. It's the kind of place I would find things worth buying if I give it time. Lots of great prices on reasonably good stuff. I should really keep a list of things to check out when I go.

Here are my haul. 4 tarp 5 led 5 magnet parts holder. Shameful. Lol. Be patient on giveaways. You have good planning even if it’s a long drive. Our store was far away until they open one 6 mikes away. Harbor freight is a candy store so many things to buy.

Yeah. When I was a kid my favorite stores were toy stores. As a full grown adolescent, they were sporting goods stores. Nowadays, they are hardware stores! I could walk for hours in a well stocked hardware store and not run out of fascination.

I've had my eye on a magnet parts holder, don't think I've actually seen those yet. I've ripped ring magnets out of several old microwave ovens, they work well that way.

Well I found out the tarp isn't waterproof and very much porous. So much for covering up my bikes to keep them dry while mounted on my car overnight.

I had real good luck with the 19'x29' silver tarp from HF in recent years. So tough, it lasted more than a year without springing leaks, a good 2 years IIRC. Used to have to change tarps yearly to keep my garage dry, even more often sometimes with the blue tarps. Couple years ago had roof replaced and sold 2 of those tarps to the roofer, I didn't need them anymore. They're around $60.

They better be for 60 but my blue one is 5 years old but I only use it when it rains
