A little pricey (if I remember correctly), but definitely worth it. I've used its cousin Tech Tool Deluxe as a part of AppleCare and I've had no complaints.

Or the free HDT (Hardware Diagnostic Test) from the OS X install disc #2? Don't know much about them, but they're supposed to check your hard drive and other components of your system.
