seem to be having a wierd problem, not sure if it is a mb problem or what, so here goes.
I had my rig up and running great, but I wanted to replace the maxtor 160gb HD with a Seagate 160gb that I just bought. I tried to plug in the seagate to copy over all the non-windows partitions and data, but windows will not boot. Anytime I have both drives hooked up, no matter what configuration (same id, different, changing slaves to masters, and so on) the computer will not boot to the maxtor. The bios always sees them perfectly fine unless they are on the same channel, then only the seagate shows up as master, even though it is set to slave and shows up as slave in any other configuration. With both on the same channel, the bios doesnt even find the maxtor. As soon as I disconnect the seagate, the maxtor works fine. I have even tried to hit esc at boot to choose a boot device and it allows me to pick HD, then gives me the option of either one, but no matter which I choose, it will not boot to the maxtor.
TIA for the responses.
