Every like 5-10 minutes, my HD makes a noise likes its processing information or something but it really isn't and I can temporary turn it off when I click on a folder from that HD. Does anyone have any idea on how to get rid of it.

Hard drives making noises they are not supposed to is generally BAD news. Your hard drive could be on its way out, I would suggest you back up everything and get your hands on another drive.

I should explain the whole story then...

I remember trying to encode something with virtual dub or something and the computer just froze and started making that noise.

Then I turned off computer and turned it on and it was very very slow and the same noise was coming up.

Then I saw one of my partitions on the drive was corrupted and stuff so I deleted and everything was back to working normal and normal speed and my other partitions were fine, it was just that partition I was trying to save my encoded video file got corrupted and that partition is all screwed up now and I can't do anything with it but I still have my 2 other ones. But sometimes like I said every 5-10 minutes, it still makes that noise which is so annoying

It's a WinXP bug. You have more than one HDD right? I also get the exact same symptom and I have to click a folder on the drive that is making the noise to make it stop. The way I solved it is that I put the Temporary Internet files folder in a partition on the second drive and now I don't seem to get the noise anymore. I guess it's since when the temp folder is on that drive it's always writing stuff and keeping the drive busy.

It seems that it only happens if you have more than one drive. If I only use one drive I never get that annoying HDD noise even though the drive has several partitions.

No clue at all but have you even STARTED backing stuff up? If you do have it, use Norton Ghost and burn it to CD's or make an image of your drive to another hard drive ASAP.
