I have a WD 120 SE and it's had a high pitched sound coming from it for a couple months now. I've read that RMAing the drive is basically hopeless in fixing this as it seems common. So I either buy a new HD (at least I got a nice deal on this one) and put this in my server, or use some kind of internal HD enclosure.
So are there any kind of enclosures I should look at? Or I think I'd just get a seagate drive as they are supposedly known for being of nice build quality (no whinning motors/bearing).
thanks.
edit: What are known to be the best HDs, IDE 7200rpm 75gb+ in terms of quality and silence?
I'll be back later if anyone cares to respond
