hard drive partitions

I took hard drive out of my ubnutu computer and put it in my wifes computer when her hdd died. I replaced the drive in her computer and put the drive back in my computer. Went to install win 7 on the drive, when it came to partition the drive it showed 3 partitions.(I installed XP for hers) I deleted 2 of the partitions left the small one win 7 puts in. Upon reboot the drive only shows 15 gb not 80gb no other space.(I know small but only e machine) I have tried everything to get the full size back. I installed vista, in windows it still only showed 15gb(under drive management), ubuntu same thing 15gb. Partition magic only 15gb as with fdisk.
At a loss no matter what I do I only see 15gb. ???????

When you deleted partitions, did you resize the remaining ones to use the newly created unallocated space?

No, I let windows do it like I usually do. There was 70+gb unallocated and 10mg allocated after I deleted the partitions. Usually after reboot,at this point of install windows asks if I want to use unallocated space to install windows on and it would show all unallocated. But only shows 15gb and 10mb partitions and no unallocated space.

If Windows Disk Management indicates the full size of the hard drive (not the size of the partitions) as 15GB, you should check if HPA (capacity clipping) is for some reason in effect. Consider trying this utility (freeware) http://hdd-tools.com/products/cr/download/crsetup.exe (under Windows, not sure if it is compatible with x64 or Windows 7), or something like MHDD (from DOS) to reset the HPA to maximum size.

check the jumper settings, and/or do a software sector wipe of the drive...then do a new install should get you all the space back
