I tried to do a PM at circuit city today. The little girl at the counter was happy to call Sam's (they never answered) but the big boss was lurking in the background. He said I could have the pm to Sam's or the CC price with the rebate, but not the PM and the rebates. I walked. Too bad. I guess it depends on the day you go there, I've done this twice at CC in the past.

That was in Ft. Walton Beach, I'll try Tallahassee on Monday.

Gigs are cheap,

Really? I wasn't aware. That will put the drive in the $70 dollar range, that's about what I want to pay. I've been buying drives w/rebates so long (since anandtech) that nearly every week is like Xmas,,,,,checks in the mail

Thanks for the tip,

Gravity

Make sure to remember to look closely at those 160GB Western Digitals. Many, including myself, have found 200GB drives "hiding" in the 160GB packages.
BTW, the CC in Madison Heights MI PM'd to Sam's with no questions asked. Issued a credit for $60.xx. Included the extra 10% too! I just walked in with a printout from Sam's website. Of course I purchased it first, then went back in, so I already had the store printed rebate slips in hand anyway.

For the OfficeMax 80GB WD, add $41.00 in free after rebate items (they have a bunch) and use a $30 off $150 coupon from your favorite coupon site. After the tax, rebates, and postage, you'll get the drive for about $50, and have a few freebies too!

I can not find the Western Digital 80Mb SE version on the Office Max webpage. The SE is the version with the 8Mb cache.

Is anyone else having any luck?

20339475 is it. It's on the website now. It is the only 80GB drive on their site. Look at the part number. WD800JBRTL. That's the 8mb cache, three year warranty, SE drive.

Yeah, I know it says 1 year warranty. That's just incorrect.
I ignore the rest. The SE is all they have had for a while now.

AND, the printed ad specifically says SE drive for sku # 20339475.

Trust allisolm. She's got it correct.
