Hard to be Single

My gf and I recently broke up. I told her some changes needed to be made for us to stay together, they weren't, we broke up. We had been seeing each other for 2 years. Prior to that I was in a relationship for a year and a half (1 month separation). I've now been single for about 3 weeks and I'm having a tough time dealing with it. Is this common or is it just me? Any tips besides hanging out with friends and drinking myself stupid? <--- I already do these

Oh, and why the hell is every girl around here preggors, has a kid, is straight up BEAT, or has a bf???? wtf.

LOL OP, you sound like me, every day for the past two years! I still hate being single, but the local strip club loves me. I think I single-handedly financed their renovation. Heh, it's the closest I'll probably get to being with a woman anytime soon. If you think pickings are slim in your area, try Alaska.

After two years... I still hang out with friends and drink myself stupid several nights a week. but it's not all bad, some of my lady friends have taken a liking to sharing the hot tub with me. Topless. I'm still trying to find meaningful value in being single... rather than isolated incidents of cheap gratification.

Where I'm at, all the girls are.................... not interested in me. And that's ok I'm not that interested in a relationship right now, I don't have the $$ for a gf anyways. I just watch movies and work out.

It's common because it's only been 3 weeks. I think you need some time to cool off because you've basically been in a relationship for the past three and a half years. You should take it as an opportunity to hook up with as many chicks as possible before you find your next girlfriend.

Being single is easy. After a while, you get accustomed to misreading signals from the women in your life and embarrassing both of you when you ask one of them out, and you start to resent all the women you can actually attain because the mask you put on while you're flirting at a bar does not convey the depth or sincerity of who you really are.

Women piss me off. Enjoy being single and try to have more success than I've had.

It's waaaayyyy easier to be single man. Dating/relationships are work, don't get me wrong, a lot of the time they're worth it, but as far as difficulty, being single is easier. BTW, you need to be working out at least once a day while you're down. When my last relationship ended I was running ~10 miles a day and hitting the 80lb bag until I couldn't lift my arms, my body felt like hell, but I was much less stressed/down.

its tough man.... from 14 up to 23 i've only been single for a couple stretches.... i've been in one 3 year relationship, two 1.5 years and 2 6 months.... so that leaves 2 years single...lol and the longest i've been was maybe 6 months too...
after a while you just get kinda complacent (not the best word)... its kinda comfortable always having someone there that kinda stuff... i hang out with my friends and used to drink a lot too but that's just a stopgap for when it still really hurts... just learn to be comfortable on your own... its not so bad!! the harder you look the less likely you are to find a cool girl to date again... these kinda things just kinda happen to ya! :beer:

Besides waiting for time to elapse, here are a couple of things I've found in my experience that eases the pain:

1. Working out
2. Getting laid. Asian Massage Parlors are cheap, quick, and easy.

don't worry man your only down on life cuz your stable is currently empty. Get a starter ho asap. It doesn't matter if she's the perfect girl or not its just temporary to get you out of the rut. Before you know it your stable will be filled with hotties once again. Good luck man! :thumbsup:
