Saw some episode where they had a bet and it was over ed hardy jeans and realized these guys have to be morons and decided I'd never watch the show again.

Yep, sub sandwiches.

Hardcore Pawn is all about the brother and sister bitching. They rarely get anything interesting and 90% of the people that come in are the lowest trash you can think of.

Looks this way. In the 8 min since my last post I've seen them buy something from a white guy but otherwise it was some black guys trying to sell them probably stolen or swapped sh*t and now some black women complaining about some custom jewelry that they don't like and since it's custom cannot return.

Like most Tru-TV shows, totally staged. Guy walks in without a pawn ticket or ID and expects to get his chain back, starts trouble. Really, is anyone that dumb to believe they can retrieve a pawned item with no ID or the pawn ticket?. Both towing shows have become laughable, "Vegas strip" is good, like an ongoing Cops episode and you get a lot of nice shots of the strip..

LOL, guy got owned. Sells a gumball machine for $50, while waiting to be paid watches a lady come and buy it for $100 in less than 3 minutes.

Pawn shop in Detroit. It's not all cute and cuddly like Pawn Stars (which I still like)

The issue I have with hardcore pawn is many of the crazy people are wearing wireless mics. Sometimes you can see the transmitter packs on them, so I'm sure at some point they were coached to notch up the craziness.

Just discovered the show last week. I do like it but as others have pointed out, some of it has to be staged an the bickering between brother/sister is annoying.

I did see another Pawn show (Pawn Stars?) the other day and it seemed decent but I only saw one episode. Gonna try and set the DVR to record some more to see which one I like more.

I have seen the Vegas and Detroit Pawn shows.

Pawn Stars is focused on the items people bring in and show the family love, while Hardcore pawn shows brother and sister fighting, and someone coming in and having an issue.

The show is horrible. It seems as though the producers are doing everything possible to perpetuate the most negative stereotypes about black people and Jews. There are no decent people on that show and the whole thing is nothing but human misery.

These guido-type white guys set up shop in the middle of an economically depressed section of detroit and do not give these people anywhere near what their stuff is worth. The owners are a bunch of slimy bastards (IMHO.)

Pawn shops almost never give what an item is worth, that isn't how they make money. You get a loan for maybe 1/3 the worth and they make the money on interest and selling things that the customers let go.

Not trying to rain on your parade but this show is just reinactments like the TruTV show like Operation Repo. They are based on past events but they are all just staged events. Pawn Stars on the other hand isn't reinactiments but I do believe a lot of the deals are setup.

I'm not a fan of TruTV for this reason, they brought us conspirecy with Jessi Ventura for crying out loud.

sorry man but that is just stupid, you don't pay what an item is worth, it is used, and the market they are selling back to are also poor so why would they pay top dollar, it isn't a charity. if the seller accepts the price, it is a fair price.
