Crap is that real?

I'm guessing it's tool-assisted - the movements are scripted. Tyson doesn't hit him once, and he enters the code at the begging way to quickly and accurately.

No it's not. I can do the same thing. If I knew it was that spectacular, I would have uploaded a video too. The first 1:30min Tyson will knock you down with one blow. But you can avoid them and get two shots in between, but that's it. Get greedy and go for three shots and you're going down. After the 1:30 mark, Tyson can hit you but it will not knock you down in one shot. I'd say Tyson is easier than Super Macho Man once you get used to playing him. You just gotta have leet reflexes.

I can't tell since I'm at work, but is that Izmo's Mike Tyson Punch Out video or mine? Izmo's is 100% tool assisted, mine is not. It's very easy to tell due to requiring perfect dodging AND perfect timing to score a perfect hit (extra damage) punch, which is humanly impossible due to how human reflex limits work.

It's Izmo's. The way the code was entered at the beginning was a big tip-off that it was tool-assisted. And not only did he dodge every punch, he dodged so quickly that he would have had to just tap the d-pad, requiring absolutely perfect timing to avoid the punch.
You suck at the Punch Out.

Did guantlet have an ending? I remember multiplayer guantlet was great but it eventually got crazy difficult.

You suck at the Punch Out.

I've never claimed that I was good at Punch Out. You don't have to be an asshole about it... I watched Firebot's video and there were differences that made it obvious it was a human player. Even if he never got hit and TKOed Tyson in the first round I would believe Firebot's video was real, because it doesn't look too perfect.

But since you say you can do the same thing that the video portrays, go ahead and post a video. I believe you can do it, but I also believe it'll be apparant that it's a human player playing.

Yeah, and let me remind you, that wasn't the first WTF in that game. The first WTF came when you got close to the last level where there were two demons at the top of the castle. Well you picked your best weapons, the dagger, and battled them out, continue after continue after continue. Then you FINALLY beat them and said, "hell yeah, bring on the final stage." Well it then tells you the weapon you have is useless against the final boss and you need the shield to beat him, which is the freakin' WORST weapon in the game that only shoots an inch infront of your character. Not only that, they make you restart the last level you were on (yeah, the one you spent forever on trying to clear). And then when you FINALLY got past that level with the shield (which is freakin' ridiculous) you then go onto the final level and finally beat the last character and yeah, it says it is all an illusion and you have to do the game ALL OVER AGAIN! I fvcking ripped the joystick out of my NES and vowed NEVER to play the game again! Well after a few months of not playing it, I pop the game back in and told myself I wasn't going to stop until I beat it, which I did.

Ghost 'N Goblins was definitely the most ridiculous game on the NES. It was designed for one thing, to take your money (remember, this was originally an arcade game). And if I spent all that money in the arcade and it pulled that crap on me (this is all an illusion crap), I think I might have put a hole in the screen. :|

Dude, chill, I wasn't being serious. But I think I might take you up on your dare. I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Well keep an eye on this thread. Like I said, I think I really might give Tyson another shot this weekend. I want to show a comparison of the video that was posted to my video and see what you think of it.

Castlevania was by far the hardest nintendo game I played as a kid...didn't play some of the others that were listed...

I remember when I finally won...I don't really remember the ending...just the castle collapsing...I was so estatic !!! and there was no one around to witness the defeat

Ghost and Goblin's was a beatch too...but I got through it

THAT'S the game I was thinking of! It's like running around lost in a maze without any clue as was to do!

Yeah..That game is seriously out of control. After searching around and finding a website for the game, it turns out that you have to use certain people to defeat certain bosses. Once you do that, you fight that freakin dragon as the final boss. Check out the map of that dungeon as well....crazy huge...I never explored close to all of those.

I'll throw Zelda II into the mix. The last palace was gigantic and quite difficult if you didn't have a guide. I don't think I beat that game until I played it again on an emulator.

mike tysons punchout, i didn't beat until 2 years ago. *finally* but definitely hard as a child.

castlevania = could never beat, i didn't even get to the last guy, i think i got to the 2nd to last boss. btw, simons quest is way easier than castlevania.

kid icarus was way fun, but not that bad to beat, although sometimes i would get lost in those mazes trying to find the bosses.

oh man, ninja gaiden, i could get really far, but i can't remember which boss it was, but i could never get past them.

double dragon = i couldn't beat the last guy or near the last guy (it was a guy with a machine gun)

tmnt = yep, super hard, i think i got to that water bomb level and gave up

mega man = couldn't even pass the regular bosses levels

Double Dragon was the only NES game I had that I could never beat. For me it was always the machine gun guy that I couldnt get past either. Its the only game I have ever given up on, but I rarely see it mentioned as an unbeatable game. What gives?

Man, that last fight was tough. I did beat that one way back when. I never bothered to beat it again, though

Zelda II - Adventures of Link was the toughest one for the NES, I just cannot seem to get around this one.

was it the machine gun guy, I thought you had to fight a dude that looked exactly like the main character except with different colors, and he was faster?
