I will not even try to defend myself for burning those TBirds up. Stoopid? Yes. Could have be avoided? Yes. We have sacrificed 4GHz+ worth of TBirds since they showed up on the scene. I could give you an impressive list of well-know webmasters that have done the same. The reason I put it on the front page for all to see is that I want our readers to be 100% aware that AMD CPUs are NOT anything like Intel CPUs when it comes to handling and care. We have handled far more Intel CPUs and have never lost one to heat or core fractures yet. I figure saying, "I am a bonehead, and we destroyed another one? is better than saying, "Be careful guys, and they are fragile in more ways than one." If our readers can learn from our mistakes I think that is great. I would bet that we have made impressions on the OCers out there and have saved far more than we have destroyed. Also, it is always a bonus knowing there is someone out that is a bigger goombah than yourself and I don't mind being that guy. We are just guys that test hardware and tell about our experiences with it. Nothing more, nothing less...

As for the name-calling and such, that is cool guys, it happens every day, and besides some of you are right. We can be opinionated pricks some times, but we do stand up for what we believe is RIGHT, and that is more than you can say for a lot of folks in this web-biz.

The one comment I will address is the backhanded remark about our journalistic integrity. That is one thing we pride ourselves in having and will never let go of. Please don't confuse our opinionated remarks with deliberately misstating facts, because that is something we would NEVER intentionally do.

Well said. I agree with you. I happen to like HOCP's site. I'm not a member of your forums, but hey, that shouldn't matter. A little bit of name calling is just "sibling rivalry" and is to be expected. On the other hand, I don't think anyone has the right to call someone they don't personally know "a bonehead" or worse.

I also think that you guys ARE doing us other technogeeks a service by testing (destroying? ) whatever parts you can get your hands on. Better you than me and my $250 or whatever, right?

Anyway that's my $.02. Felt that I should give you a little morale support. Later.
