Well it's good to know that you got it working and you're happy with the results - but just so you know:

The 7 series cards by nVidia did not support VP3 which is probably why your CPU usage was still high. Proper implementation - or a card that supported VP3 - would give you under 20% CPU usage.
Apologies again for resurrecting the dead - glad you got it sorted out - hopefully the additional information posted will help others searching to get this issue resolved in future.
Bear in mind that there are different video profiles for HD video and if your card does not support decoding that specific profile then you will not be able to benefit from hardware decoding.
