Well, I believe it's fake.
Looking at his benchmarks, ATI seems to have a lot of work to do. If R520 is such a disappointing card, from a business stand point, they would of dropped the product COMPLETELY in favour of the R580 if R520 is so slow. They clearly haven't, so either those were VERY early samples that did not perform to specs practically without any drivers, or it's made up.
I think the hardware community as a whole is just getting dragged into the power (political) game played by HardwareAnalysis and ATI.
If you read Sanders' rebuttal, he basically goes over and over again about how ATI has "cut him off for 6 months". And ATI is saying if a journalist doesn't want to participate in their previous MAIN events, why bother asking again. (Sanders did reject previous CrossFire Events due to personal reason with anniversary with his gf) And it just goes back and forth.
So my view in this, why bother posting benchmarks when the numbers aren't near what they are "supposed" to be. I can post benchmarks today about G80, saying it only scores 500 in 3dmark05 and cause a whole fuss, but does it do any good to the community, NO.
HA is a good site to go to from time to time, but after that article, I feel I'm disappointed in the way he handled things here.
BTW, ATI's stock did go down $0.60. lol
