I saw this deal posted that directed you to Amazon for $280 + $15 shipping at Amazon.

This is a solid unit.

I missed out on the original but found the following:

heads up, as i posted about 6ave in the original AVR240 thread...

6ave is indeed an authorized retailer of HK products, but they are authorized for B&M sales only, not online. I contacted HK a few weeks back about this and they said, technically they didn't have to honor the warranty since they are not authorized to sell online, but would likely do it to appease the customer. Just a heads up in case you run into any warranty problems.

Make sure you have warrenty though.
HK receivers sound incredible but the build quality sucks. Just check on AVS forum.

I'm on my second receiver and third remote ,thanks to HK for 2 year warranty.
Their customer service is mainly through email. When you ship the receiver for repair or replacement it will cost you 50-75$ shipping since these things weight about 40 LB.

no worries, its still a good deal. So good, even JR said they couldn't pricematch it because it was below their cost on the item.

This is the first I've heard of bad build quality. I have the AVR230 and I've had it for about 5 years without a problem at all.

Thats way HK sells piles of the refurb ones on ebay....
The sound is so good though that I still would get another one as long it has warrenty of'course
