I was going to do the local bookstore midnight release thing, but the amazon deal with guaranteed on the 16th is lookin kinda nice.

Buy it from Costco on the release day, its the cheapest, and they stock a MOUNTAIN of them so everyone gets one.

I 2nd the costco. The book they sale are usually cheaper than everywhere else.

edit: You just have to live with the limited selection. But, for popular title like Harry Potter they will surely have it.

Yup, got the previous one @ Costco on release day for $15.99 or $16.99, can't remember. What I DO remember was being in and out of the store in 5 minutes flat, and looking at the literal pallet of books remaining.

Costco is the only place I go to buy books anymore. I just picked up this James Bond Book box set for $13.50. Its $35 at Amazon. Can't beat that with a stick.

I bought the last HP book from amazon. It arrived just like they said, the Saturday it came out.

Went to Wally World a little later in the day and there was the book for much less.


I'll be buying it local this time.

I'd get mine at Costco, too, had I not pre-ordered it at Buy.com back when they had this deal where you get free shipping. Of course, being a big geek, I ordered the "UK" version off the AmazonUK website, as well. That one was a bit expensive for my tastes... But having two versions is not too bad

Walmart tends to adjust their prices on a local level--they'll try and beat out local competition by a few cents. It will vary from store to store.
